TACH.jpg got the tach finished and working... lol have to remember the tach goes thru MSD box not the coil .. Thank you to Dan R. , Ian G. and Robin R. my friends who helped me get this done.. next up will be a new windshield and rear tailgate glass.. they are really scratched up .. looking like originals by the manufacture.. going to do a black/blue hounds tooth on the seat inserts.. and new door panels (previous owners installed door speaks in all four) but thats a winter project,,, stay tuned !

I like my Sun SST Green Line as well, I was going to ask who made the "Big Daddy" Tachometer then I enlarged the picture and saw the "DIXCO" Who Made DIXCO?
A Buddy of mine in high school always called them "Disco Tachs" what an Air Head He Was...
    Look Great ...

Did you find a Cover for the Wiper Motor yet?
A strange part to have missing, PO still have it possible?
Can you still contact PO and ask if it's laying around somewhere?
    Hope you find one.

Sure hated to see the "We are done" in the title, this is the only Gen. 2 Nova that I have a connection to on the HAMB.
Maybe you will think of something to do to your wagon........even If it doesnt need it.
By the way, I have an extra W/S wiper motor but not sure if both work, would hate to give up the good one if one is bad.

Maybe I'm missing something you guys already talked about, but the only cover I'm aware of is just the washer pump. I can't recall ever seeing just a cover.

GM used this exact windshield wiper/washer on so many cars. My 1965 Pontiac has the exact one.

    Here's a picture of one on a 1963 Nova.

Thank you everyone... guess its just the pump thats missing... looks like the previous owner put a regular small electric pump down by the washer tank... I may just buy a pump and gut it and plug washer line connection... just drives me nut looking at the motor and see that open spot.

to tall.PNG View attachment 6538133 SHIFT 1.PNG View attachment 6538133 ok , so I officially don't like how tall this Hurst shift lever is. previous owner had removed the stock Muncie stuff in favor of this Hurst unit.. It shifts great .. but will need to shorten it or find a shorter Hurst bench seat lever ( if there is a thing lol) guess I'm not done,, lol .. have a great weekend folks !

msr 1966.jpg so we mounted the MSD module in the glovebox in the wagon... being the glovebox material is of cardboard material really could use the 6AL mounts... so I bought some heavy-duty adhesive Velcro strips on the back and secured, so it would slide around...installed the rpm chip (6000) for now... and adjusted the pointer on the tach to 6000...

Those thermostat housings were used on many of the hi-perf small blocks early/late 60's too i.e. Z/28, L79, etc, but as you are aware I'm sure, they have gotten kind of stupid $$$ due to the whole musclecar collecting deal.
I seem to recall there was a six cylinder application that used them too, I don't believe the GM casting number was put on them though.
As you said repros are available, not kept up on $$$, you should be able to find them at Puyallup, Monroe, etc swap meets pretty easily.
I forgot that Dorman has them, NAPA shows them as a generic w/o casting the GM casting number.

The new Hurst replacement handles have reeealy gotten expensive, thinking, the biggest issue is clearance on the bench seat. If yours is too tall, you can just cut and/or overlap it and weld it back on, that's much stronger than a butt weld.
I did that on my roadster along with some tweaking the offset for placement, on my Nova I butt welded it after some mods.

I'll look around on the housing for sure.. I think there is one more swap left in Bremerton.. but I'll hit up my pals.. I'm the SBC guy among the big bad BBC owners I hang out with lol... I snoop around there stuff also..

I was looking at the prices on the Hurst shift lever , that are expensive.. its pretty tall, just dont like the big curve at the top.. Will need to figure it out.., @DDDenny .. Thanks for the advice , much appreciated.

I'm kind of odd when it comes to how a Hurst shifter handle looks in a car, hot rods, etc.
For years I've cringed when I see those long bench seat handles used in first and second generation Nova console cars.

The Hurst linkeage for the M-20 in my 67, took some "fiddl'n" to get it to come through the console correctly and to fit the palm comfortably.

Finding a puddle of gear oil in the trunk where I was storing the Muncie prompted that.
    Another shot of the shifter.
