Solid take Joey. I’m grateful for the analog things in this world (that seem to be disappearing) — car shows among them.
I enjoy the small get togethers, being able to wander the rows with no sense of urgency like a big meet, trying to take it all in. The thing I miss is real actual cruising. Where you see, hear and smell all the cars, hoping for another good view of that elusive wild card. I get it, you can't study the details like a static meet, and you avoid burning the fuel, risking regular traffic along with LE attention and can't discuss what you are seeing with anyone but your passenger(s). But you also miss the thumbs up across the lanes, the impromptu lineups at stoplights, the flash of chrome and shiny paint in the streetlights.
Amen...can't just throw a cruise without LE noticing but that's mainly because of the rowdies acting like a bunch of jackasses and their street takeovers! Yup missing the good ol days of the informal somewhat formal cruising where guys would rev the motors and maybe light the tires here and there but nothing radical like these days!
@Greenblade , Sorry for the confusion, I usually try to include the description with the abbreviation when I write. Often referred to as Law Enforcement (LE) by those not in the ranks and LEO (add Officer) internally. Here are a few more. As you should be able to glean, some are more respectful than others. https://www.wikihow.com/Slang-for-Police
