Customs looking for advice /help with 292 y block ford

    I wasn't very clear about the exhaust cross over potential issue. I've seen a couple of engines with one weak bank due to an exhaust leak into one of the split plenums. Not your engine type, but it has happened.

    Sort of like an unintended EGR valve.

    that may be worth a try , am guessing that i could pressurize the exhaust system on that side and check for leak thru into intake manifold , thanks mike

    Personally I'm thinking that you are looking for an issue that may not be and issue at all. If the compression is even and the vacuum reading is as it should be along with the timing set correctly and the carb adusted correctly the actual difference may be air flow on one side as apposed to the other. The difference may be due to heat crossing through the crossover in the intake due to exhaust manifold design that is intended to have it do just that when the heat riser valve is open.
