  1. Damn @snoop74, I was hoping YOU were the Texan who shared that 481 MILLION split and the Missourian after taxes from the Powerball... Any more to finish up on your '35?

Fixed the minor door alignment problem today. I oversized the door hinge plate screw holes. That allowed fine adjustment of the hinge plate up and down and sideways. The small metal squares hold the hinge plate by pinching and will be welded in place now that the hinge plate is in the final position.

What would be a fair price for this seat?
I have the opportunity to buy this 1939 Chevy master sedan front seat. I have seen it in person and the pictures are a fairly accurate representation. It will need complete upholstery work and repair of seat springs. Split seat back folds forward. It seems pretty solid. He has the decorative molding that fits around the lower edge of the seat (not pictured).

Well, rats! That seat was a few inches too wide. I didn’t buy it.
Today was a good day in the shop. I got the driver door hung and it lines up nicely.
Here’s a short video. VIDEO LINK

I really wasn’t happy with my first attempt at framing the doors and side windows. My 2nd attempt is going much better.

Looks great! Road trips are about getting it done in spite of adversity!
Love the International. I had a '40 D model for a ranch truck for years. I hauled a barn we dismantled over the Sierras with it in two trips. Great old trucks!

Lost the trailer the last 200 miles, took a hub off the driver side and drove the remaining IMG_2638.jpeg IMG_2639.jpeg IMG_2643.jpeg

  16. One day for sure, I'll meet you at the Gathering at the ROC brother... A show that I cannot afford to miss! @NeilinCA, (from our HAMB) brought his vintage Detroit bare steel '32 Ford 5 window coupe there recently and afterwards, immediately tore her down completely for Show and Shine paint, many HAMBers waiting patiently for the outcome. Nicest original steel body that I have EVER witnessed! She looks as great as a new Brookville Roadster repop!

  17. Look what a new friend of mine, Lynn here in LHC just bought out of Wisconsin on a farm that was stored for over 60 years... Same model Chevrolet as mine, body in very solid condition - INCLUDING THE WOOD (A rarity in itself)! For the first time in 30 years that I've owned mine, I finally had a look at his car showing the wood being intact for the windshield mechanism that lifts the windshield about 4 inches up and down, only it's missing the actual crank knob. The best part, he only paid $1,500!

He wants to build a mild - early to mid 60's hot rod, doing all or most of the work himself. He's just shy of turning 80, working on a few other projects as well (10 cars in total), that you can see in his outside garage/shop, inspiring to say for sure! Lynn bought my never-installed repop bottom rumble seat spring (photo 4) that I bought way back in 1996, since I need to change my rumble lid to a trunk after I have the entire bottom of the lid repaired from rust damage. As you can imagine, rumble lids from these early Chevy's are IMPOSSIBLE to find intact without damage from rain trapped along the bottom. Needless to say, we will certainly be cruisin' buddies in two very rare '31 Chevy coupes!

Nice find! In tact Chevys are rare. Hard enough to find all the sheet metal in one place. Almost unheard of for the wood †o be there and solid.

I can hardly believe that low price. What a bargain! Jealous but glad it will be in good hands.
The guy I bought my 34 from is helping a guy restore a 33 sedan and he said the wood in that 33 is great too. I’ll try get pictures.

  21. He's a lucky car enthusiast - Lynn said that was the reason why that he couldn't pass the 'Ol Chevy up!!
Sounds good Jay, I paid 2K for mine in 1995 and had rust damage on both steel floors, which I had to have a guy fabricate in thicker steel from what was left on my original floors because NO ONE had any repros available. And very lucky that the entire bottom of the body had to be replaced with new patch panels in 1996 - at that time, to my knowledge, you couldn't buy steel repro fenders, aprons, rumble lids, etc. Any further progress that you haven't posted yet on your Master coupe?

October has been full of other things to do on weekends. A conference and an old Chevy GMC truck show. That killed 2 weekends but I’ve squeezed in some work on a few weekday evenings. I’m carefully redoing (ugh!) the door frames. My prior fab work just wouldn’t allow me to properly align the doors. I think this time I have it figured out. More pics once I have something worthwhile to show.
