Is the Mallory only aftermarket, or was it available on something.?

  3. Those Mallory distributors came from forklifts if I recall
I have used them also, just pay attention to the advance rate
I have found side valve motors need less than the overheads
    YMMV John

I have a couple of blowers here which would be fun, a Wade & a Czech one from an aircraft, both 50's it'll be a while before they are put into service....

Wicked kool! But curious why the carb mounts on the blower were cast backwards? Prototype…?

I believe they were OEM on some (Ford?) 4-cylinder marine motors too, at least that's what the one I bought on eBay was advertised for.

    Hello,

For a little whimsy, here is a photo of Kent Babler’s 4 cylinder FED in a Tommy Ivo teen drama. Ha!
“The Ghost Of Dragstrip Hollow.” But, here is another film from the same time period that shows the FED as a real race car in action at Lion’s Dragstrip.
    upload_2025-10-22_5-3-32.png
A Crosley 4 cylinder motor power, in a similar chassis as the original Tommy Ivo single Buick FED.
    upload_2025-10-22_5-4-16.png
This Lion’s Dragstrip image was cannon fodder for any Halloween images with the bright orange tower color and a special surprise if one digs a little in the photo capture.

@Dannerr , I spotted in your video what looks to be the "little*****ter" 27 roadster with 32 fenders that Tony Thacker found buried in an LA garage a couple years ago. It was in line to race.. Anybody confirm this? Does it live in Europe these days?

Anyone know if the repro rockers, shaft, blocks, and other valvetrain stuff from the repro Miller heads will bolt right up to an original? I’ve got a line on a bare original head and would like to see what could be done to make it whole.

Call Steve Serr or e-mail him at millerhispeedheads@gmail.com and ask. If not, Rocker Arm Specialists in Anderson Ca, could probably fix you up. Hope you get the head!!

  18. Nope. It’s just been on a European holiday. Romo, Santa Pod, and Pendine.

Check with Dan Price for valve train parts.

Yes, it is - no, it's just touring. And the only one in the line up of Brit's, who isn't banger powered.
I used to be mechanic on Old Red (the red coupe), which just became a part of Hot Wheels' $1 line, as Craig Callum is a good friend and now is cheif designer at WH. But he broke the crank friday evening, so that's why, he was behind the wheel of mine in one shot.
@hotrodfil's Cream T you might know, and last one is Peter Stevens (designer of among other things, the McLaren F1), who build the car around the Alexander head.
... humbled to be in that company, to say the least!

    Some****embly needed.

If anyone has a line on valve train parts (pretty sure none of mine are Miller), or articles on tricks and tips, send them my way. I had a short call to Dan Price and will be sending him pics of the situation. Emailed Steve Serr but no answer yet.

Those valve stems look a lot like 6 cylinder 235 Chevrolet.. Good thing is the long stems and you can cut them off as needed.

I’ve got one extra valve in the bunch that is cut shorter and a groove added.

Any idea what these rockers are from? They are on a 3/4” shaft.

    FWIW,
The ones on my Alexander turned out to all be exhaust rockers from 34 Chevy Standard,
according to the folks at Chevy Parts Obsolete. The thin wall bushings were the same as flathead Ford connecting rod small end.

I guess the guys who made these ohv heads originally used whatever they could find that was readily available.

I know that the original Wayne 12 port heads used Buick straight 8 rockers

I don’t think the rockers and shaft I own were what the head came with originally. I think they were collected by someone to replace lost parts. The shaft stands are kinda crude homemade jobs.
