I am so glad you are helping Charlie with this build. It does the old timers good to see a younger guy take a real interest in helping an older guy build his hot rod. Thank you

the door has no inner structure left, if I did it off the truck it may not have fit. I will make an inner brace on the truck, then take the doors off and fix any details that I can't get while they are on. I am doing it this way , on this type of build because it is not a restoration or are we looking for anything more than done.
we are going to keep are eyes out for another set of doors, cheap.

Charlie is known amongst are friends as "uncle". For the last 25+ years he has been all of our, "go-to" guy, for any automotive trouble shooting we have needed. Charlie remembers, in detail ,how things he repaired were fixed and what we needed to do to fix them, including hints and tricks to get the job done. for example : how he would "jack back" a rear on a 1950 Buick to change the seals in the tranny instead of taking it all apart and what tool was needed to get the seal to slide into the ball. last time he actually did it was in the late sixties:cool:. we owe him big time and it is a pleasure to help him.

I can't get Charlie to paint the tank area the light tan to match the panel. I think it would look better if all the raised areas, on both the panel and the tank were light tan and everything else was the dark brown. Charlie says no.

I notice you have license plates on it. When you build a truck from pieces like that do you have any problems getting a title for it? Totally enjoy watching your builds.

so I stopped by Charlie's and we set the bed sides up with a couple clamps. Plan is to drill a few mounting holes then Charlie will put some primer on them. I also fit the pieces I made for over the doors to seal the top side.
Charlie started to make up a seat....

that seat was the passenger seat out of a 1965 suburban parts truck. I made the base under it shorter than the original.
