I had to purchase my 32 0riginal Ford frame in pieces. Does some one out there have a kit that I can purchase these nuts and bolts. I was thinking of just welding it together but want to keep it as original as possible thanks Tom

  2. Rivets was used originally.
I’m sure someone here knows the size.

No nuts and bolts, just rivets in different size and length

You'll need a 3X or 5X impact rivet gun to set the bigger rivets, a few bucking tools that you can buy or make. Some of the big rivets may take some heat. If you don't have experience setting solid rivets there are some good YouTube segments out there. There have also been some postings on here about that subject. As with any frame assembly keeping it square during assembly is key. I have used bolts to initially level and square the frame and then remove bolts one at a time and replaced them with rivets. Not rocket science.

  5. I hope you're not going to try to do this job on a pair of Wooden Sawhorses or the Garage floor. Flat, parallel and square generally takes a solid work surface of some kind. Then fixtures to hold things in place.

Follow pist-n-broke's advice. It drives me crazy when someone needs about a 1/2" of shims to get their Model A body true. If your frame was true, you wouldn't need shims, Ford didn't.

  7. Building a chassis with plumb bobs and tape measures is traditional

  8. Now the young guys want to know who's plumber bob ? I had to laugh this morning with a utube film, young guys ( mid 20 ) could,nt even ID a 1959 Cadillac or a late 1960s Malibu.

While I understand it seems obvious, I couldn't point out different horse breeds that would be common knowledge over a hundred twenty years ago.
We may have great amounts of knowledge, but how much is vital and how much is trivia?
I can't even remember the last time I saw a '59 driving on the road. Not a car show, club meet or coming/going to one, just driving.

Like @anthony myrick alluded to, plenty of frames built without frame tables.

Too many people overthink this stuff, just make it happen.
