Hi all, who makes a decent radiator for a SBF in my 30 sedan? I was looking at Champion. I just dont want to spend 1300.00 for a radiator. I am using factory grille shell, not chopped. Thanks in advance!!

Brice Thomas. Not cheap but my choice when I buy aluminum radiators.

I am using a $275 Champion in my roadster it keeps that 400 HP 383 SBC at 180 degrees in all conditions. I find it just as trust worthy as the $1400 Walker/Johnson in my Y block powered coupe.

Not sure what cheapo brand radiator this is but it cools my 392 SBF in my 34. I know I didn't spend much for it. I also had something similar in my 30 chopped sedan with a 302 Ford. If I had to spend over a grand for a radiator I'd take up golf.

Is there a part number on Champion?

  8. I've got a Champion in my 351W, used a lefthand discharge water pump to accommodate sbc radiator, which is cheaper by about $100. Not worth the savings, just get one set up for sbf. Don't know yet whether it will cool well enough. Still need a decent carburetor to get it running for break in.
Champions don't fill the radiator shell well enough on 28-29 As (gaps on the sides and top of radiator tank), but probably just fine for the taller, narrower 30-31s. I'm using a 13-inch fan, which only pulls air through the bottom half of the radiator, so I'll be fabricating a shroud soon, I'm sure.

I didnt see a part number as there are several options. They have it listed as a 1930-31 Model A Radiator for Ford V8.Three row, cools to 800HP. Priced at 289.00
