Yes, the 354 Spitfire Poly and Hemi shared the same block, crank, intake etc for a few years 57-58. Rumors says dragracers of this era discovered they could get cheap Spitfire engines at the scrapyard for the block and crank, we did the same (hopefully it works out).

I think you have to change pistons, as well.

Trip to the balance shop, pickup Tuesday. Not to busy right now…checking everything….11 months until Bonneville World Finals…starting to get behind.

In preparation for my two-lane tour from East Tennessee to West Texas, up through Oklahoma and back home with no set schedule, I got new door glass and trunk seal in last week. Got new tires and filled the gas tank Friday morning. On the way home from the gas station, blew the transmission up. It only makes zzzzzzzzzzzzing sounds now. Today, my plan is to remove the rearend and******* from the '48 Ford, pull the engine and******* from the '46 Merc, swap the new clutch and pressure plate and trans from the Merc into the Ford, and put the rearend back under the Ford. Piece of cake. :)

Edit: Just realized I can't remove the front floor pan without removing the heater, so I'll wait while the new antifreeze drains out of that little hole in the radiator. :(

o_OThere's no excuse for being old and decrepit, I guess! :rolleyes:Takes me longer to get things done now than I did when I was 18. Hell, it takes me longer to get stuff ready to get things done than it did when I was 18. Lemme see, that must have been almost 65 years ago:(. Don't worry, you're still on the itinerary, right after @RMONTY, the gal in Weatherford, then you and then @Roothawg. Thought I'd forgot all about you, didn't you? I've never been known to pass up a free cup of coffee. ;)

On a sad note…I lost a build project last night, but on a positive note…I’m sure liking the tread pattern on the new excelsior roadster tires that showed up this morning. :):):)

Finally have something that looks like a complete pedal system. Today was pedal return spring, return stop and brake switch bracket day. IMG_4884.jpeg IMG_4883.jpeg IMG_4882.jpeg

You bet! A minor detail, but it gets my vote. Great fabrication, very clean.

Detailing under the roadster after a rain storm, how the hell did I dent my muffler? I wonder if the paintless dent guy can get that out of pull it off the car? Seriously?

Went for a beautiful little drive to the warehouse in Montana to pick up the rest of the Coker order. 1 set of WW’s and one set of blackwalls in big’n’littles for the ‘projects’.
Looking forward to getting a set mounted and on a car.:cool::cool:

Love driving in the Fall once we’ve had a few frosts and the windshield doesn’t get plastered with bugs. :D:D:D

If your PDR guy does glue pulls he may be able to get most of it out.

I own of those, I'll try it. I just have no idea how one dents a muffler right there. No nick in the ceramic coating, just a dent. Go figure.
