Clint Howard is a mechanic (Rughead) in "The Wraith" who builds an engine to race with he says, "A new turbo" pointing at a big block with a 6-71 blower.

    Not my quote
"In one major scene the Mechanic (Wilson) scopes a drive in parking lot for a compe***or. He notes "a '32 Ford Coupe with a 427 and 11" rubber". The car is in fact a '30-'31 Model A Ford with a GM radiator grille. The rubber and Chevy engine appear to be correct, though".

Wife elbowed me at the movies during Ford vs. Ferrari when I pointed out the SBC fuel pump sitting on a workbench.

Watched a clip today of a Reacher (Tom Cruise) flick where they were chased by a pack of Chrylser 200 4 cyls with V8 soundtracks....

The Walking dead blew up Neegan's gang's whips and swapped in some old UJM's for Harley's for the explosion...

There was GREAT movie on MST3000 I liked so much I bought a tape of it. Giant Gila Monster was a Ray Kellogg teen hot rod movie and has some of the best MST3000 faux pas ever created. In one action sequence, the Gila Monster destroyed a locomotive train bridge. In the sequence, they show a car racing to beat the train to a crossing and scenes of the train show shots of the engine heading toward its demise. One time it was a GM EMD streamliner, next shot would be a switch engine, a third a steam engine. The whole movie is likewise so bad it is great! They didn't even try!!!!!

That pump was for the family Ford wood-paneled station wagon in the background scenes.

You think Hollywood is bad with car stuff? I went to nursing school for a while. One of my professors told us how bad Hollywood is with medical stuff. Wow, she wasn't kidding.

    But they gloss over everything.
Whatever they think they can get away with.

Shooting padlocks open with 38s, 3 breath/1 chest pump CPR revivals, Cars jumping 30' in the air, landing un-damaged, heroes getting the **** beat out of them and shot in both shoulders, then back in action the next day, etc., total fantasies but keep the plot moving.
