Only fitting that they're posed in front of some of the ugliest Corvettes built. Not to mention the shorts,
the length of which would be considered more in keeping with women's fashion in this era. The discussion appears to be focused on ostracizing the footwear of the out of uniform sandal wearer.

What have you done to that Charger? Or are we supposed to be outraged with the Chrysler and Dodge bodies, or outraged because the front and rear are different years and divisions? :D

I was having this conversation with a friend earlier, he sent me this photo of a random guy that was trying to convince him that he had power steering and not manual on the friend's car. Some people ... lol

The first time I took my mustang to a cruise night the president of the local mustang club ran across the parking lot to tell me my car didn’t have the correct wheels.
He then proceeded to point out everything on my car that was “wrong”.
Then he asked me to join this club LOL

on top of all that he showed me his car that he claimed was completely original, despite being repainted in a non-original colour, with parts store seat covers an a luggage rack that wasn’t available until a later year lol

I had a guy at a car show inspect my wagon and actually gave me a list of things the felt were “wrong”.

I think he thought he was doing me a favour and that I really didn’t know what I had.

Did you let him know he needed to lose a few pounds, gain a few inches of height and start a skin care routine? :)

Luckily I build my cars for me, therefore what other people think or say about them has no relevance whatsoever.

I had a guy try to convince me that my Studebaker Lark was a Rambler. When I pointed out that Studebaker was clearly written across the trunk lid, he said “harumph, same thing”… 1598.jpeg

I have a one owner mustang that I bout brand new. The only things that have been replaced are filters, fluids, brakes and tires.

I have had several self proclaimed mustang experts tell me my car is not original and did not come from the factory with the options it has

I'm in Europe, the comments are as you can you imagine them (those two are our versions of the type)

But, all jokes aside, I think we ALL do this, particularly when we stumble on a car we know a lot about...

It’s one thing to have an intelligent conversation with a fellow enthusiast who is knowledgeable about your car.
It’s another to be told your car is “wrong” by someone who doesn’t actually know what they are talking about.

For example, a knowledgeable enthusiast would ask if my car is repainted in the original colour and we could discuss the factory colours and how my car is a period correct colour but not a colour that was available on that car in that year.

A fool would would tell me I ruined my ford by painting it a Chevy colour ☹️

"Experts" I've had a few try to explain to me How I should have done it and why It is wrong, it did not meet their vision. I try to be a polite guy, pretty hard sometimes, learned dealing with an *** Hat, instantly walking away is the best way IMO. The best part of our great hobby is we can do it our own way. Been playing with cars all my life, now with OT stuff, at 77 I still spend some garage time, my latest shop edition is a 55" color TV to replace my 39 " so you can see my priorities have shifted with age LOL. Yesterday I worked on my aging SUV, had it on the lift fixing rusted out trans lines, what a PIA, plenty sore this AM but paid myself $1080, quoted price, parts, labor misc BS fees at local garage, will say I will not do this job again, BUT my DIY always kicks in, have tools, skills, a lift, the only problem is my age and all the **** that comes with makes most projects a F story, small project can turn into a big project. Car shows, cruises, the car hobby and life in general sometimes brings up a pearl of wisdom from my Mother " Always Remember, There Are Many More Horses ***es Than Horses"

I spoke with the owner of a 1967 Ranchero GT at a local car show. Had the correct looking 390, GT hood, GT emblems and so on. I explained to him there was no GT Ranchero for the 67 model year. Said he bought it this way but still insisted it was the real deal. I guess I’m that guy.

I once ran into a guy who had a sign in front of his fibergl***, big block Chevy powered, automatic, Cobra kit stating that it was a rare Shelby prototype. One of one.
