I was able to get the car on the lift and front and rear springs have reversed eyes and appear to have been de arched, and longer shackles have been used on the rear and of course a heavily dropped axle at the front. The car rides fairly well but the turning radius is restricted due to front tire rub. Yes every thing that can be chromed was, transmission case, bell housing, complete exhaust system even the brake lines. Someone asked about the firewall, all the spot welds were drilled out and the firewall was reinstalled with what looks to be chromed rivets. Meanwhile the barrel of chrome polish is on order. I am still discovering things about this car as I bought it without driving it or asking very many questions. Things such as it was converted to 12 volts but made positive ground, the engine only has about 500 miles on it since a complete rebuild and all receipts provided show quality parts and machining and ***embly by a reputable builder. The previous owner also provided receipts for every replacement part installed in the 9 years he owned it. I also have each year of California registration do***entation going back to 1972.

I'm not sure which is cooler; the top or the bottom.

Wow, Super car, almost too much chrome. Some is good, more is better, too much is just enough.

Such a cool car, and I'm very happy for you, Gary! I'm also happy that I am not the guy having to polish all that chrome. ;-)

Don't fall for it, Danny. He'll ask you to get under it and help him polish the frame. ;-)

Do you think the old paint could be buffed without doing damage? Amazing how much chrome is on that car. That would cost a fortune today and I am sure it was still a lot when it was done back then. Really nice coupe.

I think that paint is beyond restoration but the adhesion is good and it is not flaking off so I will just leave it as is and try to protect it from further deterioration.
The feature in Pat Ganahl.'s book said that the cost for the chrome in the 60's was $6800 and a special tank had to be constructed for the ch***is. Bear in mind you could buy a new Ford or Chevy then for less than $3000.

Absolutely beautiful car! Everything was done in such a cl***y way. Do you have information about the original builder, did they have other notable cars. Remember, wax on, wax off.
