dad bought that kit for me as a little kid. unfortunately i was probably too young and messed it up. if they didn't cost an arm and a leg i'd buy another.

You may be able to locate a kit that has possibilities on eBay or FB Marketplace.

Try to see if there are toy shows in your area. I haven’t bought a kit at a store or hobby shop in many, many years. Toy show vendors will have new kits at a discount, and older issues, and even old built-ups or abandoned projects.

prices i've seen for this kit before has been well into the hundreds of bucks. i'd rather spend that kind of money on my real t project.

I built one as a early teenager and my wife was cleaning out some closets and found it stored in the original box. It needs some love and I plan to give it to my 35 year old son to bring it back to life. He has talked about building some models.

As I recall the trickiest part of building the "Big T" was ***embling the steering box without gluing the moving parts together. Getting the steering to turn the wheels with the steering wheel was a challenge but I did get it done. Kinda fragile though as I recall.

Just curious...what's a "Big T" kit worth these days. No....I'm not going to "sell" it to my son, I'm just happy he wants it.

The Lindberg 1/8 scale T should be less expensive and more readily available.

I seem to remember building a T bucket model back in the 70s called "the rodfather", anyone else?

  11. I have an NOS Lindberg "T" in the box. They were nice, just not as nice as the Monogram ones. They are a good base if you are into cutting one up and modifying it. I also have a couple of the 32 Roadsters. I was real big into building models for a lot of years, but haven't touched one for 25 years. I still have all my built and unbuilt models. No they are not for sale. Wait for the estate sale. I do plan on building again, but we will see.

Ever stop and wonder what it would cost to chrome a rear end housing today?
