Hey guys, I wanted to introduce my latest project, a ‘23 T-Bucket. This is a real deal 60’s built hot rod. We are about to go pretty wild with it and add some Ed Roth style treatment.

I hope these are the BEFORE photos? haha Cause it looks like just another T Bucket. Don't know what you mean by "Roth Style". You want to see Roth Style, look up, "The car that ate my brain, on Youtube. See the car that Piero, Harrison, and Lucky built. This will take lots of work, if that's what you're thinking. Like Tweety Pie.

Instead of trying to copy Roth's style, why not just add your own personal touches. Otherwise, you're gonna be compared and criticized. "Roth never did this, Roth never did that!"
    Some suggestions:
    Chrome Wheels
    White Walls
    Multi Carbs
    Different Exhaust
    White Interior
    White Pinstripes
    Longer Shifter
Look at the Outlaw and Tweety Pie for inspiration. At least it's a great color for 60's style.

I know Tweedy Pie very well and have talked with Piero a few times, but his car is not Roth style specifically, his is Bob Johnston style. As I said, I just got this one and we are about to go pretty wild with it and add some Ed Roth style treatment. The video I posted is it right after I got it. I’ve got lots of plans, and stuff already purchased for this car.

Oh Yeah! I will be following along.
I picked up an old T-Bucket a year and a half ago and have been chipping away at it. I'm also trying to bring it back to mid to late 60s, at least the vibe. I won't be adding exactly period correct stuff, and can't swing the full chrome a lot of them wore, but I am removing the later stuff when possible. I'm sure you know about the Bucket of Ugly thread, the Love For T-Bucket thread and over in the OT section the Post-65 T-Bucket thread.
Check out @Tim_with_a_T 's build thread too.
Mine isn't ready to post over here, so it's in the OT section and you can look at the photo album in my profile. I'll sneak in one pic to show the changes made so far.

I was gonna mention that Roth didn't build Tweety Pie, but I figured you knew that already. I love Pieros car! Can't wait to see what you do with this. I built a lot of cars when I was younger, but now I like to get cars with potential, and make them my own. You can search some of the cars and trucks i've done. The 666 Coupe I have now, is probably the only one I haven't done much to. Red plexigl***, wheels, changed the rear end. It's as close to what I wanted. How soon will you start?

It doesn't take much to polish up a turd.(just an expression) The right wheels, interior, engine mods, etc. The feeling you get each time you change something is priceless!!!

Yeah, the big stuff visible there is windshield, sand and prime the body, plus the wheels and tires.
Less obvious are the repairs, quick and cheap interior, remounting the bed and the biggie, a new lower floor. Next is intake/carb. I like the exhaust, but it's too loud and not cheap/easy to muffle (8 baffles with questionable results).
Body/paint requires wooding the interior first. Have a new dash, too.
Want gauges, shifter and other minor changes, along with the support rods for the windshield finished and installed. Polishing the ugly away!

When I got my Mercury, the first thing i wanted to do was make it comfortable. It was slammed, rode like ****, only looked good when it was parked. Took me about 3yrs to get the right height and ride I wanted. Now i'm working on making it look better. Nothing's worse than driving a bad riding car. M y buddy has a real 23 T, and there's no room in it. I cant drive it. The Speedway T is stretched about 4", so there's more leg room. Is there a thread with your before/after pic's?

Sometimes a simple wheel and tire change can create a whole different car

Yeah, this had springs that I guess were original to the 49-51 Olds the rear axle is from or a 3/4 ton truck, plus HD coilover shocks! big difference now.
Roomy it's not, but it's an old 'gl*** body and I lean toward the Original look. I won't begrudge a guy for going with a stretch version, I was digging TFeverFred's build, but this one is old and short, so staying that way.
There's a few pictures in the Post-65 thread, no build thread.

Maybe something like that. I’m still trying to figure it out. I might leave it green and just add the purple accents I’m going to do, but it’s going to look pretty wild, and I expect some people to hate it, but it’s all for fun. I’ve got some renders I’ve done and I’ve got some other ideas for paint. I’ve already got the logo and monster made up for it. I’m planning on making some stickers of it and handing them out to kids. Here’s a few just to give you some idea, but I think I’m going to do something different than flames, but you can’t see that yet.

NO LAYERD FLAMES. THEY LOOK TERRIBLE. That's a Mini Truck deal. The purple flames look great. With white pinstripes. What's your wheel and tire plans?

Not sure I will do flames. I like flames, but I’ve done a bunch of flames on cars, and they’re kinda played out a little bit now. I might do drips like this, or maybe something simple like scallops or reverse scallops. As for wheels, there’s nothing more 60’s than 60’s wheels. I’m going to replace the rear tires, because they are crazy old, but I’ve thought about switching the fronts to ET Mag G***er Spokes. For now I like the slotted mags.
