    @racer-x
I would Like to be more able for others to keep up with writing & thoughts so not so Cryptid ,
I do not know if many here follow Different Drag racing & other sanction and bodies outside of NHRA, There is some unbelievable Et's & speeds & engine combo's 4, 6 8 cylinder's .
    Most all on a D-R tire's , & one's in
    90 ish inch wheel base close to 200 mph 1/8 & 200 plus in 1/4 ..
There some Bike cl*** Extreme outlaw ?
Based on production frame stretch swing arm Invite only 10 @ MIR @
World Cup , I think all where
    6:20's -6:40's 3 tenths fast then NHRA
Pro stock bike on tire smaller then
    Pro Stock bike .
    I also notice Cletus McFarland
    69 Eagle On 315's with a 15 wide rim .
What caught my eye was in staging lanes's & off line the top of rim is @
Quarter fender Tire up in quarter,
    On a 1/4 p*** around 800-900 foot
The back half of car is all jacked up
Rear quarter is about 8 inches or so
Higher then tire its self , Its freaky looking , Like a Heavy rake all on front end down force @ 263 mph with common rear spoiler wing, little to none on rear (D-F)
, I have Never to my knowledge seen this even on Pro Mod , Pro Stock
    T- Sportsman .
Now I am going to jump around to
Problem you were having when running
Split fuel , I think was neat !!
I do not think you had issues on scuffing piston's ? Just milk shaking
Oil ,, I suggested separating block from Heads , coolant not p***ing from block
To head's , a few months ago I stumbled up on independent Tinkler in 50's that did this a issue he had . Yes extra pluming but worked .
    Jumping to
Nostalgic , many of us remember
How cars where ran then , then now
68-75 ish Dry hopes 2 or 3 times
burn outs across staging beam , Bleach
, fire , engine blower surging to stage .
Very few I see doing this , Most the sanctioning Vintage encourage to do so but do not enforce.
When Vintage I personally like to see
Run in thoes time with some modern parts .
I know this all coast $$ , but in late
70's early 80's this is where started costing $$ For the average independent
Match weekend Racer pushed out of sport ,

Seeing " Non Pro Side" so many spending 100k plus for One engine ,
    A fresh roller ch***is 80k plus
Trans auto or manual 12k plus
    Tow rigs 125k plus .
diesel 3.80 gal ,Its hard for me to rap my head around ,
    growing up
Home made trailer , Ramp truck , schoolbus , Ryder box .

For me I am still bent back over 25 years ago I was able to build one big shop
I was wanting /plaining to do
80 x 100 plus & was not able to because
Rules /law's because my house was
800 square foot ,,, Me personally I could care less about a big house .
& Vehicles try to keep pre 95 .
I know thinking lead to off topic ,
    The ones made this far
If into Racing & Hot Rod's
There videos Pre 80's & still do not tell the story how it was in all forms Racing.
I even like to see the LaMans race ,
But wants they took out The long Straight away & long high bank turn changed corse , I feel changed the race

  3. I just got the word that the crank is perfect. No cracks. Journals are in spec. It's straight. I might have it back on Saturday.
The crank gear won't show up until the third week in December. So the engine won't start until the first of January. I'm still way ahead of next season.

  4. It actually showed up on time. I wasted no time getting in the block. The end play is set. It turns free by hand. The rack goes in Sunday. PXL_20251206_220707396.jpg [ATTA

  6. I came home from work and went out in the shop and put the rack together. It went together nice and smooth.
I got word on the crank gear I will get it by the end of the week. I found one brand new.
The PRI show is this week. I will be home Sunday to degree the cam. Once that is done I can put the whole car together. Firing it up on Christmas would be a good gift. PXL_20251209_000139801.NIGHT.jpg PXL_20251209_000224162.NIGHT.jpg

  12. A few more steps closer to fire up. It's primed; timed; lashed. I will polish the puke and fuel tank before I put them back on. Then it's ready. Nitro before Christmas is awesome. PXL_20251217_234447580.jpg

Right.....Brian probably has 15 tasks already lined up. And then there's his Chevelle.....

  17. Trailer maintenance is on the list of things to do. Brakes; bearings etc. I want to finish off the new floor in the Chevelle. I'm going to make a cooler for the Bruno. More on that later. I might re wire the whole car. I need to do a few things on the Road King. It needs a new front tire. I'm working on a book covering the first few years of Union Grove. I found a incredible stash of never seen before pictures. There's a lot of material. There's plenty to keep me busy.

Brian, I show my students videos of your car when we do engines, way out of the scope of what we teach but everyone thinks it’s cool!

  19. Shop cl***es are so important. My sons shop teacher has a real hemi dart. They hit it off real good. My son was restoring his 69 Super Bee while in high school. He went on to win four state ***les. He won the Ford technicians for tomorrow. He won the state and national skills USA compe***ions. Then won the skills event in Brasil. He finished fourth in the world in Germany. He won so many scholarships it was crazy. He settled on a automotive engineering degree from Ferris State in Michigan. He was hired by Chrysler before he graduated. He was testing Hellcats at first. Then he wrote the service manuals for the technicians on rebuilding the Gen three hemi. Chrysler needed a guy to build a hemi for the next fast and furious movie. Who better to do the engine than the guy that wrote the manual. The engine came out of Leah Pritchets championship challenger drag pack car. This isn't to brag. It's to show what a motivated student from a good shop cl*** can accomplish. Without that shop cl*** he wouldn't be where he is today. Lots of kids went through that cl*** over the years. There are so many success stories that came from it. Thank you for your dedication to your students. You make a difference in their lives. If your close to Detroit I'm sure my son could give the kids a fantastic field trip showing them some cool things.

Looking good Brian. Did you pick up any new trick bits at the PRI show?

  25. Sure did. I ordered a new helmet. It comes with a fresh air system built in along with radio set up. It has the air bladder that can be inflated to remove the helmet safely in the event of a crash. It has a full nomex lining and skirt. I was given a new Dana 60 cover by Yukon gear. System one gave me a new filter. Star racer blower belts gave me a new carbon fiber belt. I bought a bore gauge setup. I bought new miller welding gloves. I bought a fluid transfer pump so I can build a trans cooler. I'm sure I missed a few things. Most likely I will have the car on display in a booth next year.

Good shopping. I'd never heard of the bladder in the helmet, that's a tremendous idea.

  29. The bladder in the helmet will be a rule soon. The fresh air system prevents fogging of the visor. I brought my head sock with me to get a proper fit. I didn't do it last time. The helmet was too tight to let me use one. I wanted to up my safety going forward.
