You can't just put no hole vette valve covers on it. There will be no place to hook up the PVC valve unless it is a 283 or 327 and has a road draft tube hole by the dist. I doubt that though because it looks like it has accessory holes in the front of the heads meaning 305 or 350

It has an Oil fill tube in the front, I'm getting a breather cap today.

Let's focus on the car fellas.

If you want to focus on a Moderator slipping up, send me a PM instead so the car doesn't lose its spot light.

    Thanks

That's a nice looking coupe, I like the oddball stuff too. I love the patina.
Is it too early to ask what the long term vision is for the coupe?

    Congratulations on retirement:)

Man I dig the Art Deco front Grilles and trim from the late 30's.

Nice. You don't see a lot of the cool old Dodge Bru winged emblems intact.

I see places for 12 speakers in the package tray.

The 12 spots package tray is for a 12 pack / individual beers. :)

Just kidding- absolutely do not drink and drive.

Included was an additional nice 38 Dodge D8 front grille.

I’m going to fill in the center gap and make a really cool shop light to either hang from the ceiling , wall mount or on the top of my tool box. It will be the only one if it’s kind. It's pretty heavy but will figure what works / looks the best.

Any chance of finding actual center grill bars for the light?

Man I like the looks of that thing, patina and all.
It's hard to pull off different and cool at the same time.
That car's got character and it's in the right hands thankfully. Let the fun begin!

I'm not sure Mike, I'm playing with the idea of bending a strip to run down the middle to fill it in.
Then cut strip openings to coincide with the grill opening strips so light can p*** through the grille strips and center strip openings.

    Thanks man.
Yea the vision hit me with the Art Deco Grille and trim. Rock solid car that's 98% rust free that you really cant see and the patina. Different and cool is a great description. I had a vision and done deal. It's *****in'
I have some work to do to get it road worthy like dual exhaust with smithy muffler, clean up/hook up some wiring, fill in some dash gages and rubber matt the interior floor. Door gl*** mechanism clean up. Plugs, fluids etc etc etc.

IMG_5058.jpeg Nice feature is you can unbolt the sides to get to the engine easier. Made changing plugs easy to get to. Drivers side is another story. Even with the side off, I couldn’t get to drivers side plug 2 as the steering arm was close enough I had a hell of a time getting it unscrewed, and getting the wrench out it was a ***** as well. That was from the top side. So I ended up having to jack up the front and go out plug 23 and four from the bottom and got them changed out.

The old plugs were definitely worn and a lot of carbon buildup.

I put the new ones in and this old girl fired right up and came to life like a fresh change of “D” batteries for the ladies.

Remember I said it was 98% rust free.
I wasn’t kidding. Here is the only 1% break through rust on the p***engers below the door rocker strip.
    That’s 1% if that.
The only other spot is a p***enger fender lip cut / stick weld filled.

    So there’s your 2%…..,
The rest of the 98% rock solid.
    Unbelievably solid.

Looking at the rear, remove the gingerbread and discounting the rear window it resembles a Willys. HRP

I believe its either 47 or 41, not really sure, it was on a car I photographed at a swap meet, I will see if I can find the original picture to post here!

    @corncobcoupe
Well I used to own a 47 Dodge Model D-24, 3 window business coupe, so I know its not a 47.
Looking back through the files, this is the original photograph, as I saw it at a swap-meet, and come to think of it, it may have been just a nose section and not the complete car at that swap meet, so the HAMB detectives will have to cough up the year of this magnificent leaping ram!
Hope this enough detail to track it down.
    Thanks from Dennis.

Thanks for the rear shot, cob!
    I guess I'm mostly a ****-a-la man.
But when it comes to the late '30s coupes, I do love the ****s. Nothing like it... before or since.
I like it so much, I always want to see... as Danny said... everything taken off it. Shaved smooth. Maybe even the gas filler. And let those smooth ***y body lines speak for themselves. Necessary items like tail lights and license plate should be kept as low as possible.
Just my po of course. But yeah baby.
