I briefly just looked at 2 side by side in barn ('51-52). There was also a '42-47 f1 Gonna go back and check them out better, see whats all there I looked at alot of vehicles, several Packards there. One DeSoto or Packard was covered in berry vines, was a 2 door coupe. maybe a '39-40 . Gonna bring hedge trimmer next visit Any 51-52 f1 owners here? etc
Yes. I have a '52 F1. Flathead V8, T-5, etc. Have owned many over the years, also have a '51 COE Post some pics of what you find!
Next visit Ill take some pics Was the grill piece ever chrome originally of just painted Are parts available for these?
If you search for a while I think you'll find you can build one of these from the ground up from all reproduction parts.
Not much available for the '42-'47 Jailbar pickups anymore, making any parts for them desirable to those that own them. 1948 was the first year for the F1 designation.
The grilles were painted starting with argent (silver) 1951 and off white later ‘51 and 1952. Chrome was never an option for the grilles. Any chrome grille you see on these was done by a previous owner. As said arts are available. Front brake drums are getting hard to find.
Holy Molly $800 bucks for 1 rear pick up bed fender https://www.summitracing.com/search...d=Auto Metal Direct Fenders for 1951-1952 F-1
Seems like a lot, but if you have a fender needing m***aging and patching, you might be spending the same amount, unless you can do it yourself. This ***umes - bad ***umption- that the “new” bought fender is correct.
Well , I sure will hunt for removed parts, and fenders when I go back to that property , I know I saw a flat head ford v8 half hidden sitting on the ground under the equipment shed. Lot of stuff to look at
And fellow Tri-City Rod & Custom member Steve has this one, his dad purchased it new and used it up on the farm, it was restored about 40 years ago and Steve decided he wanted the truck more reliable and rebuilt it over a 10 year period. HRP
