Congratulations on everything about this car - landing it, restoring it back to its 1957 glory and your huge progress during your ownership. Has to be mind bending to open the garage and lay eyes on her. Good for you. It's very enjoyable to hear the stories of the car, all its life phases, all the twists and turns. And, as it turns out, even the name of the color has its own story; one you might enjoy. The name of the color is ***ian Red. Not a word I was familiar with, so I had to look it up. ***ian Red is a color named for Tiziano Vecellio, c1477–1576, Italian painter. The color is a reddish-gold, like the hair color used in many of the works of ***ian. And it's pronounced "tish-uhn". None of which I had ever heard. So, the fifties Buick people had some strong art influences when they named that color - ***ian Red.
Dean, Thanks for sharing all of this history. I'm digging deep into the cluster busters history here in the Indy area. I picked up this 3 window recently that was built in the early 60s in Terra Haute/Laporte Indiana and is reported to have been a show car around the same time and area as yours. The lead work on the back half is very similar to yours and could ***ume the cars ran together at the time. I'll look for info on your car as I dig for info on mine and some of the early club info in the area so I'll see what I can find. Great build man! Glad you could save it!
Wow great find!! We figured out it was actually The Cluster Busters based in Toledo, Ohio....different from the Indy club!
Thanks! I absolutely will I really haven't done anything on it worth mentioning since bringing it home. But hopefully will dig into it this coming year.
Thanks! My 32 was actually out of the Laporte area which is just outside of Toledo so I'll keep an eye out as I dig through old photos.
