    HI, in the past guys were using crown victoria front suspension I need to know what year fit the best for 351 winsor engine planning to convert my grandsons F1 humbly john! THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE IDEAS! SAID DONE BECAUSE I AM GOING TO JUST DO AN ENGINE SWAP 351 WILL FIT WITH PLENTY ROOM!

    I believe that suspension is too wide for an F-1.

    Crown vic is way too wide for an F1 IMO
    Personally, I'd use a Jag ifs. Do some research...

    I'd suggest going over to the Ford Truck Forum and ask what other's with F1 trucks are doing for independent suspension. I've had good luck getting ***istance on my 62 Unibody for questions I had.

    They have different forums for different series. I found some YouTube videos but.....they were not forthcoming with track width info.

    Just out of curiosity, why a frame clip instead of just the engine swap. There’s a lot of info out there on that. Seems popular in the truck circles.​

    The above video was how fellow member wfo guy used a narrowed crown vic front with Very Nice results! Great Video!

    Nova and clones, stubs from 68-74, A body (Chevelles, etc) from 64 to 72 all work really well.

    That is a great video of a good builder modifying a crossmember and building a custom frame. With nice results. I wish I was that ambitious.
    I am thinking the OP was told how nice a stock crossmember bolts to the frame and you can be driving the truck with just a weekends work. That may be possible on the later trucks.
