I am looking for information about the rear doors on my 1933 Ford Panel truck. A good Samaritan slammed the left rear door on the truck jamming the latch. Does any one know of an exploded view of the rear door latches?
It appears it is the upper latch that is jammed as it appears that the lower latch is working with the release handle. Any helpp with information or photos would help greatly.
    Thanks, Ducky

Very much like a door latch. Most likely a spring broke

Haven't touched one in decades; but the upper and lower latches have simple spring loaded strikers. Sounds like it is mechanically jammed, don't think a broken spring would hold it up. Picture from the Ford book of the whole latch ***embly. The strikers are the same as the part in the lower left of the picture, Ford must have thought it was needed as a repair part, possibly.

Thanks for the download of the latch and linkage. Exactly what I was looking for.
A friend helped me by shutting the left door at a show. It appears that the upper door latch is jammed, I am not able to get it to release. Any suggestions? Thinking I may be able to slide a flat piece of steel from the side to get it to release.
Again thank you for posting the exploded view. It has helped alot
