2019 on Lake Perkolilli, Western Australia. Felt like Muroc 1939, 76mph was the best the banger could do that day

  4. Yep. 28/29 roadsters just look better
    The model A RPU especially.
The 32 RPU looks goofy proportionately

The 28/29 just seems so much sleaker.

I saw the Niekamp roadster in the flesh years ago with @general gow and his dad at Simards place. Wow.

Quite the opening salvo and I would say indisputable as well.
    Another fine example.

Jack Marinelli's 29 A on a 32 ch***is with a 46 drivetrain, built in the 50's and still looks almost exactly the same. It's one of my favorite cars.

It really is remarkable how much sleeker, lower, smaller a '28/'29 is vs. a '32. Eventually I'd love to build a race version in the vain of the Nancy, Christman or Sparks/Bonney cars.

The Lambrose/Iacono and Tony Nancy roadsters are at the top of my list, too. In terms of historic, significant '28/'29 roadsters Guasco's '61 AMBR winner should be on the list. Screenshot 2026-03-11 at 9.57.40 AM.png

Great Thread and Lineup Ryan.Great thread! I've always preferred the 28-29 Roadster over the 32 that's why I got mine. Didn't build it, but made some improvements and been collecting vintage speed parts for it . My favorite has always been the Niekamp Roadster. Here's a pic of the Niekamp and my 29. I often wonder WHY the 32 body became more ubiquitous. My working theory: the grille. Evidenced by the number of nose modifications shown in your examples.
