I posted a new member thread a short while ago. I said I was looking for a '32 Chevy 5-window. Well, I picked one up Friday! It's a project car for sure. But it's a good starting point for me. Got a crazy amount of parts with it. Fresh rebuilt 250 6-cylinder. Fresh rebuilt 700r4. The rear is a 35k mile '55 Chevy. Has a drop front axle with a new disc brake kit (still in the boxes).

Roof is from a '61 Chevy wagon.

Here's how the previous owner bought it.

Body work needs redone. But that's fine.

He replaced a lot of the wood with square and rectangular tubing. A lot of the bad wood was replaced with red oak.

Great start, the bad wood killed a lot of these cars!

    Thanks to all!

I'm a Hot Rod newcomer. Had tons of muscle cars and three different '72 Chevy trucks. I'm looking forward to learning about this '32. So, pour the information on if ya got it! :)

This one has some wood that still needs repaired. Mainly in the doors. He replaced a lot of the cab wood with steel and red oak.

Had to see it with rear fenders. Plus I don't have to find a place to store them! :) I needed some wheels/tires so I could mount the disc brake kit. Mounted up the old GTO slicks! :)

Do put an opening rear window in, it will really be appreciated during hot weather, believe me, I know that for a fact.

Thanks for the advice! That's in the plan. He gave me a mostly complete reproduced rear window regulator frame. He remade it in red oak.

Got one side of the disc brake conversion installed. The caliper bracket was hitting the spindle stop bracket. Had to machine a notch in it.

More of a Ford guy but you scored a really nice 32! I am liking the looks of it already.

Congratulations! Looks like you have a great car to start with. After seeing your posts on here I noticed you had also posted on the PY forum. Being a fellow Pontiac guy, maybe you would like to see my 1931 Pontiac build thread, since there’s a lot of similarities between our cars.https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1931-pontiac-build-25-years-and-counting.1230172/. As stated on PY, a Pontiac OHC 6 would be cool and probably fit well in your Chevy. Extra points if it’s a Sprint !
It will be a cool car with whatever you decide.

Congrats! It looks to be in amazing condition with lots of work done, you've got a head start on it. I'm getting close to finishing my winter face lift on my '31, it will be my first full fendered car. It's set up similar to yours, Chevy 250 with (now) a T-5 out of an S-10, and a rear also from an S-10. I drove it for the first year with a Powerglide but I missed banging gears.
Good luck on the project- post lots of pics as you move ahead!
