Projects 1964 Rambler Classic 770 hardtop

Yeah, it's got issues, most 62 year old cars do! Hasn't been in operation since 1988. Got the taillight lenses in the trunk. Need one more hubcap to make a set.

 

Missed one.

I like it a lot. Beefier than my old Falcons; good reputation for reliability and ride. Going to need some new metal in some spots... really impressed with the state of the interior! Don't know where it spent the last 38 years but it must have been stored inside for a long time.

 

Read your other thread about getting this car back home and had to go back and find this thread for pictures of it. Yep, it's a cl***ic and from one Rambler owner to another, congaszs.

I was a little put off by the damage to the rear bumper but it's rusting out from the back. Rollback driver pulled it from the bumper when he should have pulled it by the axle. Oh well.

I got a '63. Super fun car! I look forward to seeing you get this back on the road.
Parts are a pain to find, there are some Facebook groups for parts.

Well; I just larnt sumpin.... one of the fellas on the AMC forum informed me that this is a one year only body style! Makes saving it a little more of a priority IMHO.

 

So what's the plan? Just get it on the road and go from there? Or do you have a grand vision with lots of mods?

 

Yeah, two-door hardtops in the Rambler world are rare as chicken lips.

 

Wasn't going to go wild with it from the start, but now... I MIGHT go with a 232 if the 196 is buss up
