In the parking lot of a Jefferson City (MO) steakhouse. Its maiden voyage after major reconstruction.


At Spencer, MO (near Springfield). In the foreground that's one of the few original pavement sections of Rt. 66.

The owner of this gem said it was a 6 with gl*** packs. Sounded cool!

 

Sorry folks. I didn't mean to say that this is what Clarence looks like RIGHT NOW. These pix were from after the reconstruction and before the "wheel/tire incident." He's still in bodyshop jail.

I guess that was wishful thinking on my part ***uming it was back in one piece. I thought about you today while I was waiting for what felt like an eternity in a parking lot for the cruise to happen, a car trailer pulled into the lot and a trailer wheel came loose and proceeded to roll across the lot terrifying car owners. It somehow missed everyone and a spry lady jumped out of her low rider and caught it. These things happen, unfortunately.

This is a pic of Steve Osborn (weeds on here; RIP) on our way to the first R&C Americruise in 1993. He and his son Jack were in his '29 roadster pickup and the skies had opened up fully. The RPU was fenderless and *******. We were somewhere south of Kansas City heading to Springfield, MO. I was behind them in Clarence and took this with a 35mm Nikon. Then recently I took a pic of that print with my phone and that's what is on here. Steve said what a lot of roadster pilots say; "the faster you go the drier you stay." We were probably running in the low 80's when I snapped this pic.

 

Not really. If it were tail draggin' I'd do it, but I kind of like it pretty much level. If I ever get the Model A put together it will definitely be lower in the front. (I think) Model A's should have a bad *** rake down in the front or nosebleed high straight axle in the front.
