You did a awesome job on the Barracuda, I love everything about it, and you have the right at***ude on making them reliable and fun for adventures.
Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.

Here's a picture of the 1965 Plymouth Barracuda that fixed up back in 1976-77, 273-2bbl, automatic, yes it was slow but fun.

Looks like you're having some fun, my buddy just picked up a straight axle 64 with a 383, 727, 8 3/4 but he has a 440/727 going in it.

Dropped my daughter off at her place in Edmonton and headed north for home, 4.5-5 hours to go! upload_2026-7-31_18-13-42.jpeg

Yes, I honestly don’t know them off the top of my head, the first p*** today dead hooked and on its face, the second p*** I forgot to let go of the line lock ****on until close to the 60’, thinking it sure felt doggy!

I use the line lock on the line so I can put some preload on the drive line to launch it, most of the week was spent with me trying figure out how launch it

Got home last night about 10:30, little car didn’t let me down.

There is another adventure coming up with a different car in a few weeks, that thread will be in the off topic forum!

Thanks to everyone for following along with us, my daughter is already talking about next year. A week with good friends and cool cars is always a good time.

I forgot to mention, they sold out all 200 spots and 190 made it the first day, not all made it out of the first track, I believe 128 finished. The number one thing about drag and drive events is survival

Great you took us along for the ride.
I was 9 years old with my dad when he bought a new 1967 baracuda. I tried my best to talk him into getting the GTX. At least he did get the 273.

“That Track Channel” will be putting together a video, Gary figures probably 1.5 hours long, about the week, should be a week or two, I’ll post a link when it’s out.

Are those '64 or '65 fenders on your car? Or was there a difference between the Valiant and Barracuda?

  22. @ClayMart , I noticed the different V spears on the front fenders, and meant to ask what the difference was between years/models, thanks for posing the question.

Good eye. They are 1964 fenders, no difference between Valiant and Barracuda other than the back window area

  24. Real good eye.:)
