did mercury make a 49-51' convert.?

i thought they didn't but wasn't sure...i thought all convertables of the "merc" look were all self made carson top style...school me if im wrong

I found a 51 vert in the woods about 10 years ago. full power everything. couldn't believe it. unfortunatley the s**** man got it the next day.

they did make convertable..what they didn't make was a plain ol four-door stationwagon which I think would be pretty dang cool.....

 

My roadster doors were packed with 1951 newspapers...there were 2 49 Merc. converts for sale that weekend...both were 1500 each.

oh the guy who wants the merc' also owns a 57' corvette, 51' ford, 39 ford truck, WW2 jeep, 57' chevy bel-air convert., just ordered a 07' shelby GT *custom order* for his wife, 32' ford roadster, and also a 06' mustang full blown kit car...so as you can see money is no problem, oh that doesn't include the freakin' touring bus he goes on vacation in!

 

Maybe the guy who has a rich uncle who just won the Indiana lottery and wants to buy a new car.

At least he didn't ask about a 54 Chevy taildragger chop primer car with West Coast Chopper stickers on it like he saw at Walmart in the mark down section!

oh i would buy more mike ness cds but he hasn't put out a new one since 99' so when the new one comes out i'll be all over it...oh and its not like i have a chopped 54' chevy, cause maybe you didn't know but ness and jesse james have one...so if i was just a follower of them wouldn't i have a car like theres instead of the car i actually have and have owned

good luck on the merc. if your boss isnt too concerned with authenticity or fibergl*** i think there was someone making kits to transform 4-drs in to 2-dr convertibles awhile back. i also think winfield was selling 'gl*** mercs also.
