6x2 intake rpm range

    i have a 6 duece setup and i was just wondering if any body knew what the rpm range is or close, it is for a small block chevy , anything would help, thanks matt:D

    the lower end can only handle so much. when it gets over 5500 it sound like it going to come apart.. more carbs would not really give me much more at this point.

    The assumption would be pretty high like 6500+. It is after all 6 carbs. The power limit would be jetting and bore sizes. As most know the lower end is the mechanical limit as in rods, pistons, etc. Those are a common plenum as well, right? Plenty of volume for what you might be thinking. There are formulas for such things. I don't have any handy but a search might get ya pointed in the right direction.

    You can use this figure...2 CFM to each CI..
     
  10. I ran a set back in the 60's on a 428 CI FE Ford. It turned 7,200 with no sweat, but the low end suffered. If the carbs are not on a staged linkage set up, the low end will be real shitty. I resolved this in my dragster by having engine at about 5,000 before dumping the clutch. That worked like a charm, especially with 4:88 gears.
