I have used a LOT of Coker motorcycle tires over the years. I have no complaints at all, that's why I keep buying them.

Yeah... pretty silly thing to do indeed...

    -----------

I have no preset arrangement with Coker. If Coker sells you a bad tire or treats you bad, by all means... speak up!

Hello to everyone participating in this thread. I am here to represent Diamond Back Cl***ics. First of all, I want to apologize for our company being absent on this site for quite a while. Ron, a previous employee, went above and beyond to supply useful information in a timely manner. Unfortunately when he left, nobody picked up where he left off. Now I am here to answer any questions anyone may have and also to stand behind our product. One thing I WILL NOT do is bash Coker. I am sure everyone can agree that the presence of Diamond Back Cl***ics in the specialty tire industry creates compe***ion, which leads to product improvements from both companies. With proper care, our tires will not yellow or delaminate. Our company is doing very well and we will continue taking steps improving a near flawless product because our two main goals are to provide a period correct, very safe, and high quality product as well as providing the best possible customer service to every customer. After all, ya'll are the reason we are here.

I run g78-15's and love them i had great service and my only complaint is they the rub that someone else mentioned during a hard turn aired out, but thats not cokers fault. But i have friends who have had bad expiriences with them..so i think it's hit or miss....

Thanks for your involvement. I've bought and used two sets of your tires with no problems. I also bought a car with Cokers on it and put several thousand miles on them with no problem. Compe***ion is healthy. I'm glad we have two companies that care about our business and give us options to choose from.

I have only bought from Coker for YEARS and have NEVER had even the slightest problem. I bet I have bought over 100 tires from them altogether.

I have bought, at least, 12 sets of Diamondback radial www's for cars I've owned.
Never once had any trouble with the tires, performance wise, or yellowing.

I've bought Coker bias-plys, and had no troubles.

I also know of several local guys who've had trouble with their Coker radial www's. Now, to be fair, it's been 2-3 years since, but I know it happened.

I hear good things about Coker's radial's now.

I'm of the belief that fenderless cars have to have bias, but I put radial www's on all my fendered(i.e. not 28-34) cars and trucks.

Truth be told, I need a set of radial www's soon, and always buy DB, but I'm sitting on a $200. off gift cert. I won at Columbus GG's, plus our HAMB discount. So I may have to go with Cokers this time.

I orderd my 820-15 and 560-15's today, asked for some advise and recieved the answers i needed. I considered both manufacturers, but went with the tire that will make my RPU look the way i picture it. Thanks to the members who helped me out and as well to Jess for helping out.

  16. I got to say that im very impressed with coker and db coming on here and talking about their products and standing behind them,i never stated this to bash anyone,i just wanted fair opinions about the products we use and to talk about my experience with both of them, anyway thanks for all the input.

And yet you called Coker tires, ***holes?
    Whats wrong with this picture?

Cokey Coker is just a business man running his company and enjoying a hobby. If his company makes a mistake, he goes out of his way to get it corrected.
I was glad to meet him at the first stop of the Great Race and he was having a ball. I will say that when he sang the national anthem,, he was a little pitchy.

Old thread but I have a set of Diamond backs I bought for my Fairlane wagon..... The old lady took interest in driving it when I first got it so I decided on radials for it which was not only a mistake but an outright waste of money. To start with I really was not happy with the appearance of the whitewall (2" line) just being stacked on the sidewall without any sort of border or finished edge to the laminated area. They look cheap and out of place on the car and the whitewalls started to separate around the edges after about a year. The project got pushed aside so they were only mounted and installed on the car for about six months and driven on once when this started. The cores are Daytons and the sidewalls are very thin while I'm not sure if this due to the core itself or if they were shaved down too far before applying the white wall. I can say that all four are the same and the side that is not shaved ( which also looks bad ) has none of the issues the modified sides have. I also had issues with keeping them aired up, so I had them sealed even though I did not have any leaks when water tested. I still had the same problem so I switched them from my E.T. mags to a set of steel wheels with sealer but nothing changed. After driving on them the side walls are now bulging in places and it now ranges from simply adding a few pounds a week to a random overnight flat where the outside bead unseats. At $250 each these are a pricey set of junk roll around tires that don't even hold air....

Having them sit for the period of time they did before I really used them is a surely a factor and them airing down has damaged the tires further resulting in swelling in the sidewalls. However I have never had issues like this on any set of tires ever, a single random blem sure but never on a set of four. I know many people who are very pleased with them but after this I will not buy from Diamond Back again.

guess that deal they would not match was not so much a deal after all. with these custom tires, its a numbers game. both company s will get bad ones pop up.. hopefully, they keep learning and improving..

from the red lines from both company's that were posted here i think the Diamond backs looked better.

yeah, always pays to look at the date before you go after someone who may never of posted again..

Darn you guys, here I was all set on ordering some Coker tires for my T, and I have to go and read this. Dang, now I don't know. But just like any company that makes thousands of something, some bad ones will get made and some of those will get through quality control. How they deal with that is more of an issue than getting a bad one. So I will probably go with Cokers anyway. Wish I had done it when I was looking at then last fall, they have had a price increase.:(

I have bought 4 sets of Diamondback wwws and a set of redlines. I had cokers and couldn't keep the truck in the lane. I like coker for the period correct stuff, but for the driver....Diamondback or nothing! Any problems I have had have been taken care of immediately, When I blew one autocrossing at GG (No fault of the tire, the sidewall caught the sway bar mount) I called Bill when I got off the track and a new one was on the way.

I drive the **** out of my Diamondbacks.....
