I am in the "Road Knights Auto Club" founder Oct. 31, 1951 and a founding charter club of the MHRA, the first picture was our first Jacket design which lasted from 1951-1954, ( in the middle is a MHRA "Drag-ons" member ) our second design started in 1955 until present, the second picture is of the display case we made up for the 50th. Detroit Autorama, on the left closest to "yours trully" is the original jacket, on the far right is our current jacket. (and tucked away safely in my closet is my old buddy Frank Macks "Circle of Champions" jacket he got when he was inducted ),........... (( another thing you might get a kick out of,... in the showcase just to the left of the shield in the center you can see a picture of Franks car,.. Frank Mack was a Road Knight,... also see the black Merc just below that?, that's Harry McAluffe's Merc that was sold to the guy that showed it at pebble beach and won 3rd, Harry has been a active member sense 1951))

  4. This is mine, and i'm especially proud of it. When i was a kid in New York in the 60's, i'd see guys in magazines in California wearing these jackets and thought, Street Racers, man, if that just don't speak volumes for itself! I'd read how Big Willie would have Mayors, and local police block off city streets from time to time so's he could host his street racing legally. Anyway, moved out here, and not thinking on all this became heavily involved in street racing. Big Willie came to the Valley one night and overheard me trying to race my Anglia against a Nova i think. Anyway, he was instrumental in getting the guy to race me, and i won. A few years later at his dragstrip, Terminal Island in San Pedro he remebered me, and said he'd been hearing a lot about my racing, and asked why i wasn't a member, and if i was interested. I couldn't speak (for about 3 seconds), and he presented me with my "colors". Some have commented that it's a little "loud", but if they knew what it represents, it's STUGATZ! That's "the shit" in Italian.

HaHa, for some reason that made me think of an episode of 'LaVegne & Shirley' Lenny was wearing a jacket that said "ONE WOLF" I guess the "L" fell off. LaVergne gave him one of her big curly "L's"

Guess you had to see it.

Who does the patches for the back of your jackets? My club is trying to get some made down in Corpus Christi, TX. I am having a hard time finding someone to do patches that big.
