    The 2007 H.A.M.B. Drags

Looks like we will be sticking to the same late August date for 2007 fellas. That means it will all go down on August 25th, 2007. As the date approaches, we will update this page with a lively little schedule in an effort to keep your *** busy all weekend!
    It's gonna be rad fellas...

Usually Bob K gets a large block of rooms there and gets a HAMB special rate for all of us. Hopefully he chimes in.

In related news Mike "Thirdyfivepickup" sent me a cd with 1000+ pics from last year and I got it yesterday. Wasted and hour and a half watching the slide show and thinking about the memories and then how to recreate the rain for this year.

I camped at the track the first year. I'm pretty sure Carl still allows it.

I was being courteous with my coolers of beer I was dragging around the parking lot, I offered them their choice, not one of them took one. I think they're a bunch of stuck up sticks in the mud... :D:D:D

    PATIENCE GR***HOPPER !!!!!!!!

Ryan told me last night that he would have the forum up shortly, we have 150 rooms at the Ramada at the rate of
    66.00.

Also have struck a deal with the Fairfield again as well as the Hampton and the Hilton Gardens as overflow hotels. These are a little more costly but do include breakfast.

Full details to follow as soon as the forum is up. Stay tuned.

The Ramada is too dang small.....no parking. Someone ask them(Ramada) if they TRY and schedule the conflicting events to coincide with the hamb drags?

  18. Heeeee Haaaaaw, I got my rooms reserved at that Ramada just this minute. However, they was $69.00/night, not $66.00. Last year, I kept a low profile at the motel and at the races. I was barely off the FNG list then so I just watched and kept my trap shut. Hee hee, but not this year. We will be there Thursday night to get settled in and grab some space. On Friday night, with Ryans blessing and the motels OK, were gonna put some fire in the brand new 1960 AA Fuel Coupe (MEL Powered) and make some noise and fire. See ya there

i been holding off on saying this, cause i wanted to wait and do it when Ryan opened up the drags forum again after the LSRU. . . but seein as how its come up like this. . .

parking wouldnt be a problem at all at the ramada, IF everyone with a trailer would at the VERY least, not park the ****ing things length ways across 6 spots leavin them hooked to the tow vehicle. back the things into a spot, un hook and park the tow vehicle next to the trailer. that opens up another 3 spots at least.

in a perfect world, there would be a lot someplace close to the hotel where trailers could be dolly'd down and left leaving the parking open to more rods.

just my two cents worth, but if you slide 10 trailers out next to the tennis courts, thats parking for a minimum of 10 more cars... let alone the trailers stretched across 2 or 3 spots.

You're the MAN Bob, Thanks for your efforts!

  21. The Holiday Inn the first year wasnt the greatest but we had ACRES of parking and we were kinda hidden off the main drag.

Thanks for your work as well Bob!

Fiddy, I will be pulling a trailer this year with the HA/GR on it. I will definitely honor you request and I think if people really thought about what they are doing, they would do the same.
The only problem that I see is that I will leave my trailer tied to the truck, and that may put me out in the driveway. The only reason that I do this is, it makes it real hard to steal the trailer that way!
They may steal the truck and trailer, but they will be dodging lead if that happens.:D :D

There is a HUGE parking lot next door that had ALOT of trucks and trailers in it from our group with PLENTY of more space available there....right next door!...... on the SOUTH side behind the Mexican resturant.

  24. I parked in the empty shopping center lot on the OTHER side of the hotel ;) Only saw a couple of homeless guys---seemed safe enough..None of my junk went awol(and I had a truck LOAD:eek:) I don't think an unofficial hotel trailer parking "ban" would be really unreasonable, would it? Honor system maybe??

Hey Denise, shouldn't you be working???? :D

    I am....and getting paid too! :D

I think paying for a "security" guard might be a good idea. JimC could probley turn you onto a off duty police officer that might want to do this under the table, on the side, for a couple hundred bucks a nite. A couple hundred HAMB folks there, a buck per person, per nite. Pretty cheap for piece of mind while you sleep.

Ask Dragrcr50 about parking in that empty lot. He lost everything out of the back of his truck.

As far as unhooking my 4000 lb 24 ft trailer and putting it in a spot....aint gonna happen.

I just ordered a camper shell to try and secure my loot.
