    man, what a cool thread...
i don't know if we are a REAL car club or not. we are just a few guys that drink beer, check out bands, do a LOT of burnouts, and help eachother build and fix cars. that can't be a REAL car club, CAN IT?
    HOOD RATZ!!!!!!!
see you at the round up!

Could somebody explain this? I get that certain 2-wheeled vehicle organizations are touchy about their logos, etc. But what's up with the "rockers" and what kind of trouble are we talking?

Awesome pics folks! Keep them coming.

Rockers are traditionally used by the 1% bike clubs/gangs. Mostly real nice guys in my experience, but then again I don't fuck with them. They have a real nasty way of protecting their trademark (i.e. their logo) it usually involves broken bones and blood loss. It's easy enough to just not rip off their logo/symbol.

  20. I lived in Santa Barbara during the 80's and I used to check out the vintage clothing store called Yellowstone clothing, I would look through the bowling shirts and jackets. One day I found this old car club jacket. I paid $35 for it. I guess that was before they were seriously collected. I don't think they even make to stores any more and most are sold to collecters overseas.

  22. I bought this old Isky Jacket at the same store for the same price. I would only buy items if they fit me because I would wear them. I remember leaving a Pomona Drags officials shirt on the rack because it was the wrong size. I did buy a really nice yellow team shirt for the Goldenrod. It had a big Summers Brothers logo embroidered on the back. A really nice collectable. I told myself I would have to sacrifice some things to get some parts money when I built my 31 Coupe so I sold it cheap at the Long Beach swap meet. Been kicking myself ever since.

  23. Again in the 80's I was at a concert at the Arlington in Santa Barbara in the lobby when this drunk guy in his 20s staggers by me with this Irwindale Raceway jacket on so I asked him if he would sell it to me and he asked how much money I had on me, I think I got it for about $20. It's pretty well used!

This one was my Dad's. He graduated in 1963 from Austin High. I don't know much about the jacket or the club since he died back in 1981 when I was 8 years old. I'm curious if any Austinites on the board have ever seen this one before.
