I am looking at putting together a weekend event goodguys style, but tradtional hotrods, with nostalgia drag racing without the overpriceing. I have local drag track here in southdakota with lots of history from the early 70's ThunderValley. The owner is still the same from back in the day. Take the whole weekend. Specify years of cars? bring is some real drag racing. G***ers, flattys, hotrods. Jsut an idea since I here the GOODGuys is no more...

    Dakota Kid:

There is an organization that is running out of the INDY area that did just what you are after. Its called the Nostalgia Pro Comp ***ociation.

Here is a link to their Web site.

    http://nostalgiaprocomp.com/

The org is run by Troy Coker. I would check out there website, and then e-mail or try to get a hold of Troy. I am sure he would be able to give you some advice or help.

Troy is a member here. Maybe he will chime in.
I would love to see something closer to home for me. Cordova, Ill or Eddyville Ia.

This is just my opinion, take it or leave it. But, if you are gonna call it a nostalgia event...stick to it. No promods or winged cars, pick an era and go for it.

I think it's a heck of an idea. I beleive you would have alot of interest especially if you kept it "traditional". I have older friends that used to go to Thunder Valley and they always said it was a blast. Please keep us all posted, I would definitely be interested in racing or at least being a spectator if you got something set up. Have been attempting to build a front engine dragster for a couple of years now but am finding out that in order to keep it traditional, parts are hard to find and pricey. Anyway, good luck. Hope you get something going. If you do, I'd definitely be there with bells on!:D

absolutely, and be prepared to lose your *** because there is not enough cooperation from those folks to have an event that pays its way...poser don't pay the bills....................think it over before you limit your car count drastically, 2 cents..........

    I concur.

But you could count me in if you decide to put it together. Might even bring two cars.
