My son wants something newer,so it's off for an Autotrader. We've enjoyed it while we had it. He's gonna realize what he's doing later. KIDS!
yup.. this reminds me of the lame car my parents wanted me to drive... yeah, a `70 ford torino 429 cobra... real lame. I had to be the first one around with a non rabbit VW GTI
Quick slap some sense into him! Kids these days! 10 years from now he will be talking about that car and how he never should have sold it!
Unlike most cars out there, that 51 isn't something he can go buy another one if he changes his mind later. I hope he realizes that. My dad worked for Ford, I didn't think of all the performance cars he would bring home, it was just another car. When you're exposed to something special all the time, it becomes mundane. Like droplord49 said, you should buy it from him.....but if he wants it back later charge him double!!!!
Been there done that. Sure wish I had my 58 chev 2dr back worked on it all summer long in 82 I was 17 and almost had it on the road. One
Been there done that. Sure wish I had my 58 chev 2dr back worked on it all summer long in 82 I was 17 and almost had it on the road. One problem my girl friends mom didnt want her ridding on the back of my honda any more so I traded it for a v8 vega lol.Bought the car from a farmer for 250 bux he had painted it with a brush .What the hell was her name Hmmmm
I have a 2006 honda civic ill trade for it. lol wow I wish I was your son theres no way in hell Id give that car up.
hey I'll trade him a v8 s-10 for that thing. i can't believe anyone would want to get rid of a car as awesome as that.
i have a 51 sdn like that.....selling that thing too. why? to build another just like it out of my 50! but with diff brakes/motor/trans etc. figure its easier to redo a new chassis and chop it like my 51 than to gut the first and change everything thats already mounted. make sense? i hope so...
I got my first car at 15 wanted to trade it at 16 for a 69 Camaro, my Dad said no way I will kill you, at 17 wanted to trade it for a fiberglass roadster my Dad so no way I will kill you, at 18 I wanted to trade it for a Harley Dad your 18 you do what you have to do, which in my house means no I will kill you, so I did not, I am now 33 now and still have my first car will never sell it, I have my muscle car and my Harley and had to work for them. Thanks DAD..... John Pic of my first car is my avatar.
I found him a '68 Impala fastback,Candy lime with silver flake roof. Been posted on here before. He decided he wanted a chopped 50's car. So I traded it to Flynstone, for the shoebox. We have been working on it a little, but it's a slow process. My wife gets mad when it rains, and he can't drive the car. I figured he would do this, just not so soon. It's okay. I've raised my boys to be independant. I want him to be happy with his decision. Even if i'm not. He needs to live with his decisions, just like I did.
I have a 2001 Crew Cab 4x4 F250 he might be interested in. It's my current daily but I'm sure we could work something out. Still have 2yrs on the warranty or 20,000mi. Here's some pics: You might have to copy and paste the link: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v123/antirawker/F250 Superduty for Sale/
He's what...17 or 18 from the look in the pic? At that age, I was never satisfied with what I drove either. I had a '61 Sunliner with a '57 312, a '55 Caddie, a '59 Olds, a '60 Starliner, a '58 Poncho among quite a few others. I always owned several cars at once. At that age, kids want to experience a lot of cars and trucks. So let him trade the shoebox for another ride. He may live to regret it or may not. But were I you, I wouldn't help him build anything else. This is a great opportunity for him to learn on his own how hard it is to build a cool streeter. Maybe a round in a Yugo will "cure" him.. Jan
i have to agree with that, i'm 18 now, and since i was 14 i've owned around 10 cars, and there were always at least 3 in the yard. it seems like i drive one for around 6 months, then sell it to finance another. having only 1 car gets boring after a while. but during this whole time i've always kept my 57, its the only one i've owned for more than a year and i'll probally never get rid of it. i know this summer i'll probally own a couple more cars. i think buying the car from him and finishing it would be the best idea. then when he finally figures out what he lost you can sell it back to him. At a slight profit of course.
take the kid and buy him a blowjob! that always clears my mind. btw make sure he gets it in the back seat of his ford, trust me he won't ever sell it then!
man bob that sucks i dont know about kids these days hell regret it the key was to get some of his friends gun ho on it as well heck this is why i wanted to be involved in that mtv thing kids are tomarrows hot roders but heck how do we keepem with there eye on the ball?i guess what we know is kool aint kool to these youngins.
I still have my first car, 56 Sedan. Bought it against the wishes of my parents and girlfriend and still have it 26 years later. If he wants to sell it let him. But make sure the next car he gets is paid for from his own hard work. Or just get him a blow job. P.
I think he was just into the car because his younger brother is a real car nut. So am I. He's always liked those tuner things. Fuckin hate em! But my dad hated my Bug when I was 16 too. He'll move on. Some day,if it's really his thing,he'll get another one. One son likes the kustom cars, this one just likes the attention they bring.
Some girl he likes probably told him she don't like his car. Had that happen when i was that age also. Just went looking for another girl that thought a 57 bel-air was a cool ride.
