Maybe I'm spoiled by living out in the desert but it's the rust drooling out of the cracks would make me run, ugly or not. The custom bodywork won't matter if there ain't any metal holding it.

I wouldnt be surprised if it were actualy a pontiac. It looks like the front wheel is too forward for a chevy. The pontiacs are longer wheel base than chevys and they have a longer front end, though the doors glass and other things are the same......A exception is canadian pontiacs, they have the same wheel base as chevy.

Yeah... you guys are all fags.

Who cares if it's ugly... it's an old fucking custom, and it's in tact!!! It's straight out of 62. You dont just trip over those cars every day.

If you look through your old magazines... most of them were gaudy and had a lot of goofy wierd shit on them.

Heindsight is ALWAYS 20/20. We've had all this time to refine and perfect our cars. Everyone does the same shit to everything now. it's kookie and authentic. That gives it character.

That car is bad as fuck.

I knew this car looked familiar! If you've got the Big Book of Barris handy, it's featured on page 117.

    Caption reads:

This 1955 Chevy convertible was an unusual custom. This gold-toned semi-custom featured quad headlights that had been just slightly canted and a hood that was pancaked. The front end also featured a custom 1958 Buick grille with an opening made from an Oldsmobile grille and Lincoln bumper parts. The rear of the 1955 featured a pair of twin V-fins and a pancaked deck. The rear end was done with a Cadillac bumper, sculptured bodywork, and V-shaped 1958 Mercury taillights.

License plate in the picture reads:
    953ER
    1961 Ohio

Not sure if this was a Barris car or not, but the picture shows the car in pristine condition.

Personally, I don't think it's ugly one bit. Pure late 50's gaudiness. Perfect.

  12. So you just voted to change your club name......SCROUNGERS.... sounds kind of familiar. Shows alot of creativity on your part. I know there's not much you can do if someone copies your club name and the subjects been covered here before but to me it's a real FUCKHEAD move!

uglu or not it is cool and a piece of His-to-ry!! buy that SOB. let the kid buy it back in the distant future. maybe the desire to get it back will inspire him to greatness and he will make a fortune... somehow. seems to me it is more likely to go to waste in it's current storage facility. it needs PROFESSIONAL help to be saved and not some sentimental teenager with no means. no offense to the kid. i'm just attempting to be realistic. not something i'm known for. ;)

  15. OK folks, we'll start the bidding with one of Flaco's nuts. Seeing as he's a Boulevardo, we can assume it's hardly been used.

Annnnd…here we go… Gottanut gotta nut need 2 nuts do I hear 2 nuts? hebadabada gotta nut who's gonna bid 2 nuts? 2 nuts 2nuts 2 nuts, c'mon folks this is a full custom here.

There might be a future job at Barrett/Jackson for me, huh?

Theres a few things that I really hate like the rear bumper on the front and the front wheel openings, If a saw it in person id prolly would to try it and I think the interior is cool especially the seats also like the pancaked hood and kanted 58 chevy head lights.. Id buy it because it a 55 chevy convertable that was done in the 50's. The part the would scare me about redoing the car because id predict a huge mess with all that lead everywhere melting from trying to weld or what ever. I dont know what everyone is complaining about iv seen alot hear that was worse, there was a post not too long ago aboutan old kustom that I thought was a lot worse and for some reason everyone loved it, forgot wut the it started as but it had the ford truck front fenders and rediculasy huge head lights.

As ugly as it it, and it is. The car is still a part of our hobby's history and as such needs to be saved, restored and displayed.
Not all History is good, but it should never be buried.

Does anyone in this place READ the whole thread, from the BEGINNING? Damn, I identified the parts on this car way back on the FIRST page...guess most of you think there's nothing but young guys on here and those cars were built before you were born.

Doesn't make a bit of difference, if you, or anyone else thinks I'm cool or not...and I never get mad...it shortens life...

The whole point of asking is if anyone reads the whole thread is, it would save useless posts..."I guess this, I guess that" when no one really has a clue as to what is the part on the car...Maybe I'm wrong (heaven forbid) there might be people on here that cannot read...and that's why they respond to pictures. Read the whole thread, then add something meaningful, if you've got anything to add...which obviously 122 wagon...YOU do not.
