Hi ! My bro Xav from the Cheaters CC of Switzerland is rebuilding an Oldsmobile Rocket 371 ci from 1957 (golden rocket) with stock parts so we are looking for some informations ... We d'like to know the torque in newton meter to fix the crankshaft and the rods and eventually if you got the mesurement for the whole engine (heads .. etc) ? And we are also looking for a watercross which would match with an Edelbrock 6x2 log ... if anybody got that and won't use... Thanks a lot in advance for your help ! Pierre-Yves
Ft pound = 1.35582 newton meter ROD CAPS 50FTLBS = 67.79 N-M MAIN BEARING 1-4 =100 FTLBS = 135.58 N-M 5=140FTLBS = 189.81N-M CYLINDER HEAD = 70 FTLBS = 94.90 N-M
Why the hell is DON_WOW listed as a "grenade inspector"? He has provided more worthwhile info on this site than 99 percent of the rest of the users. (And why does the number of posts listed for me keep going down?)
The watercross you mention, Is it the one at the rear ??? If so i couldn't find one anywhere (mine was missing) So i made this one up. hope this helps. Steve.
