OT-What's the average age here on the HAMB?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Groucho, Mar 1, 2007.

  1. A day older than when I started reading this thread!! :D

I'll be 32 in May. It was cool going back to see the ages of people I've chatted with or recognize from posts...if I would've had to guess ages of those people, I would've been way off on most.

  6. So true....I work with some guys who are'nt into cars and they just sit there....aging. No hobbies, no exuberence for life, no fun. They don't look forward to retireing because they are afraid they will get bored!! Hell, the first thing I want to do when I retire is take that cross country trip in my hot rod I've been putting off for one reason or the other. I've been a lot of places with it, but I always wanted to just take the whole summer and just GO! I believe hot rodding does keep you young, or at least young at heart!

My wife of 25 years still rolles her eyes at how I act most of the time but shes 15 years older and looks and acts young also. Im showing my age and my body hurts pretty much every day!!! Damn!!! I wish I could retire early.

56 officially, 26 when I"m partying, 76 when I've had a hard day. Right now I feel great, just home after a party with a decent load of local brew, Speights, on board.
Had my car, a 46 coupe, at our annual USA Day in little ol' Dunedin, New Zealand. Great turnout, 346 cars, lotsa stangs etc but some good ol' 50's cars. but bugger all 40's and earlier old rods.
It must be a sign of the times - all these 50's, 60's ,70's "imports" coming in from the States.
But what the hell! Great day, magic weather ( no bloody snow in this part of the world), beer was good, food great - what more could an old 56 year old want?

I am a 1969 model, and just turned 38 last month. Yesterday, I started the day at 6:00 a.m., drove over 400 miles, hung out with my 59 year old dad, and did not make it to bed until 3:00 a.m.....a 21 hour day. Amazing how good I feel after only 5 hours of sleep. Life has treated me well.
