My little boy had the same heart repair 5 years ago. That is some scary shit. Liam will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh, by the way, my boy does take meds daily now but he is doing great.

 

Your Son is on my prayer list,... ( along with Mom & Dad ) and don't forget, With God all things are possible. When all is well don't forget to praise and thank Him

You got it man... I know what you're going through, kinda, my oldest spent the first week in the NICU after having to be resuscitated after an emergency c-section. Nothing in the world hurts like seeing your baby like that. My family and I wish you and yours the best, let us know how it turns out.

 

At least we finally got some very GOOD news!

Turns out that Liam will need one surgery (hopefully no more down the road) and then will be coming home.

The surgeons have decided that they can repair his aorta and his VSD in one shot. They aren't worrying about his bicuspid valve right now as it seems to be working okay. He'll need to be closely monitored after that for awhile, but they have great confidence in their ability to get him through and in his own ability to be a little fighter.

We're looking forward to seeing him asleep in his bassinet next to our bed sooner than later hopefully.

Dude Ive been praying for you guys all day today. I cant wait to come home and see him.

 

Fantastic looking boy! This is a minor speed bump in life, no problem. My boy just turned 2, before you know it yours will too. You two have places to go and cars to build. Stay strong.

He's doing super well now, and hopefully will be home in a few weeks with any luck.

My prayers to you and your family. My first born too had a VSD, it was the scariest 7 days of our lives. His turned out to be very minor and cleared up on its own before he turned 2, but I know the feeling of the unkown, if only for a few days. I am relieved to hear that he will be okay. The power of prayer is always amazing.

Minneapolis Children's is an EXCELLENT hospital,,,
I spent alot of time there with my kids and the staff is soo helpful and encouraging,,,
they definately know their stuff,,,,

Too true! You'll have to give him a ride in your car then you know, since mine won't be done yet (and we can't put his baby chair on the back of my cafe bike. haha)

Thanks for all the responses again everyone. Everyday he is getting a little stronger, as are his mommy and daddy.

We talked to the doc again today and she said that aside from his very common heart problems he is "absolutely perfect", so that was good to hear. Everything else is working as it should now, so when he gets out of surgery he can use all his strength to heal his little heart.

I can't wait to get him home and sit down and read him Rodders Journal, American Hot Rods, and have him lay by me to watch Hollywood Knights.

Park Lake is up the the north and over to the east ... close to where the Great Lakes comes close to MN.

 

There's actually 4 towns named Park Lake in Minnesota... silly mud ducks.
