I have one that is a project that will be on the road for the beginning of summer. 49' Fleetline, 6" channel on a S10 frame.
Should be able to get some progress going this fall. My mom was diagosed with cancer so I'm finishing the basement this year so my folks can move in with me. Good news is dad is bringing his '65 chevelle to my house and we can play cars together more often. [WHOOT]
My '52 Fleetline. 63k mile 235 PG car, has 2 carbs on an offy with a split manifold, duals, Wayne rocker and side covers. The fender stainless band and deck was shaved about 30 years ago, by the same fellow that did all the engine stuff - was repainted the first time at that point. It's an original Idaho car with grit shakers over the rear wheels for traction in the ice/snow. I just took the seats out to replace the original mat/carpet combo with carpet, and am blown away at the lack of rust in the car - can't find any!! USusally the more I am around a car the more wrong I find, this car is totally the opposite.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c51/Earthshaker5769/chevynow.jpg This is the most recent pic of my baby (July 07). I'm going through withdrawls - I've been too much of a pussy to brave the sub-zero temperatures in my stepdad's garage to turn a wrench since November. She's currently stripped down and ready to have her body removed from the frame ... BUT! It gets better! I'm closing on my new house next Friday where I will have MY VERY OWN GARAGE - for the first time ever I'm not going to have to beg borrow and steal space to work on my cars!!!! Insulation and heating are in the works already. Wish me luck.
Damn Breeder - I can't wait to plant a small garden of my own on my new property. Hope the little lady doesn't mind.
nope, she dont care! keeps me out of her hair!!!! rusk////as soon as i can get them to breed, i will let ya have which ever one ya want!
One of the nicest Chevy body styles is the "49 to "52 Chevy Fleetline. Take a good look at "McKee's" post of the pictures of the green Fleetline. This car is so nice with an old skool interior, just doesn't get any better then this. This ride took the "Coolest Short Award" at the 2006 at Paso show. Look for the "Cool Short Award" to be presented again in 2008. Cruiser 49
49-52 COUPES ,FAST BACKS, AND GASSER ARE MY FAVORITE CARS BUT I LIKE ALL 49-52 MODELS SO LETS POST ALL OF THEM!
I sold my 52 sedan a few weeks ago... (not sure why the pic won't show in the post...) And brought this 52 fleetline home last weekend!
here's my 49. 305, 700R4, mustang II, chassis is done.. undersides of the body painted... still a million things to do
Here is Gertrude ,she is a '49 fleetline .
