ONE- the bowling alley was a little "weak" last year, and it's a hilite for Saturday nite. TWO-you've already read the closing of the A&W, and it was a hilite for Friday nite. Any big ideas? I know this ain't Tech, and if it gets shut down i understand. But, for those who attend Paso, it needs to be addressed
The person in our club that was booking the shows for the past 7 or 8 years slowed down on the promoting/organizing of the saturday night rituals. I might take it over, move it somewhere else, and book some serious bands & dj's. Whattaya think?
Something needs to "complete" Saturday Nite for sure. What was that Elks Lodge(?) a couple blocks from the Bowling Alley last year??? PS-The Bowling Alley's BIG on why i spend too much $$ staying across the street at the Budget INN. Why not your "touch" at the same Bowling Alley? Why move it?
Last year the place to be was at the lodge they had bands and bbq it wasnt the same as the bowling alley in the past but it was happening place nun the less
Will you guys quit talking 'bout it!!! I can't stand it, this is my first year to get to go and I can't wait. I'll just follow the crowd.
You're gonna love it. But the 2 things i mentioned are a large part of the weekend. If they get sorted out NOW, you'll have a better time THEN. Don't you rather it be the best it can be?
hey axle, what was that place you guys had a show at like 6 years ago? it wasn't off the main drag it was a few blocks out but it was cool there.
The last few years I have had a few beers in the day and been so beat from the sun and beer that I am in bed by 10. Paso is always fun! Why is it that every year people always say " This is the last year for Paso" ? Why is that?
Ollin, We started doing the shows on the south east part of town at the Shriners club. They got tired of all the money they were making off of alchohol sales so we then moved it to the Moose lodge on Spring street. After a few mishaps we then moved it to the Bowling alley where its been to this day. I understand they can take it or leave it. We'll see. The most memorable show of all was when i hired an original 50's L.A. doo wop group THE CALVANES. Backed by Big Sandy and his band along with Carl Sonny Leyland, it was an awesome night that people are still talking about to this day. I'd love to repeat that same show again!
This will be my first time for the Paso show, everybody talks about it so I guess you've gotta see it for yourself. Booked the motel today and the closest I could get was in San Luis Obispo so it must be a big deal.We are booked in from the 24th till 27th May so should be able to see everything, actually arriving 19th then cruisin around to San Francisco and headin' south Thursday. Be good to see all the cars and people connected with them.Does it get hot, like we've just had a few days in the 90's so it doesn't worry me.anyway, keep on roddin.
