well now that tech week is over i can share some pictures of my Model A, i had it torn apart to rebuild the nailhead and finally put the front brakes on it. one of the things that bugged me after i got it on the road the first time was the fact that i decided to paint the engine blue the first time around, i regretted it big time, this time around i corrected my mistake and i couldnt be more happy with the results. went with standard drums instead of the buick ones because i wanted the coupe to look like it could have been built in 1956 and i felt they threw off the look alittle bit. i also adjusted the stance alittle bit, it sat alittle too low and would bottom out alot so i took care of that and now it rides really nice. another big change are the seats, i finally found a pair that looked right and that i could sit in comfortablly and still give me enough headroom. i still have a couple of things i want to do to it like beuty rings and caps but for the most part the car is about as far as im going to take it, i have had it back together for almost a week now and i have been loving every minute of it. it finally runs right and with alittle fine tuning it should prove to be very reliable.

well enough talk, here are some pictures for you guys.

Lookin good man, you'd better go update that "other" board on your front brake situation. Engine looks great in a different color, no offence, but before it almost looked like a model kit that the builder put together without painting anything. Very cool car!

na, i would rather those guys keep the same opinion of me, to quote one of its members

"If This Time Bomb Was On The Streets Cruising Around My Friends & Family I Would Be The First To Pull Him Over, Give Him A Warning & Explain To Get That Piece Of Crap Off The Road Till It Is Safe It Is Not Cool It Is Stupid. I Would Find Out Just Who He Is His License # And A Few Pictures Of The Car & Head Straight To Local Police Department. What Is The Difference, What Would You Do If This Guy Was Waving A Loaded Machine Gun Around A Playground Full Of Grandkids, Shake Your Finger At Him! Get This Ahole Off The Road Before It Is Too Late."

man that truck is sweet, as far as the seats go i am not sure who makes them. i got them from a VW shop, they are just fiberglass buckets like you would find in an early dune buggy, $50 each with the vinyl covers. i am sure i could have found them for cheaper i had looked around but i wanted to get my car on the road again. they are similar to these, maybe even the same co. http://markvfiberglass.com/catalog/seats/seats.html

Very cool. I have two small suggestions, first polish/chrome the M/C and second get some trim rings to break up all that blue a little. I'd like to see it in person...............maybe at Paso???

thanks Muttley, caps and rings were part of my plan just need some $ and a chrome mc is a good idea if i can get my hands on one i will run it. Paso? maybe, i havent registered and i dont know if i still can, then theres the matter of finding a place to stay.

  18. Tet,
You notice a big difference in the way it runs now? I think the engine looks better black. Love the seats, too. What did you raise up,the back,or the front? How did you do it?

Huge difference! i havent put my foot in it yet because i want the rings to seat properly but i can tell its going to get the job done. raised it in the front and rear, more leafs.

  20. There's NO substitute for a comfortable ride. When you can achieve the right look,AND a good ride, you've really done something. If it doesn't rain, you comin out tomorrow night?

is it supposed to rain? if i do come out it wont be in the coupe but it will be in something that is still cool, i call it the "death mobile" you'll see what im talking about if i make it.

they seem to be pretty sturdy but i bolted them directly to the floor so that helped alot, actually the covers were black and i know this is going to sound really ghetto but i sprayed them with a white vinyl spray paint an they actually came out pretty nice for what it is. worse comes to worse i can always use them for a pattern in the future.

Im interested to know how much of a difference you can tell with the addition of the brakes. I had a mechanical problem and wondered why my 35truck took forever to stop, corrected the problem with the front brakes and noticed a huge difference. I am curious if you had the same experience.

  25. Dood, the car is PERFECT!! I also applaud your attitude towards the fucktard, self-rightous, balls-for-brains, nazis on the other board.-MIKE:cool:

i have noticed alittle bit of difference but not the huge one i had begun to expect after all the arguments about my car not having front brakes, i am sure with a little bit more fine tuning that will change.
