O.k. I realize it is not a fuel altered but it is the name that has stuck. My friend Curtis Murrell the owner, used to make jokes how he would p*** my Hemi Coupe doing a wheelie. My response was always what do you think your car is " A Fuel Altered ". Here is the story, Curtis bought the car from the Big 3 swap meet four years ago, it was an original hot rod built in the 60's. By the time he bought it, it was pretty rough. Curtis wasnt fazed by the rough condition, he envisioned a radical 60's style hot rod. He started building the car in his garage were he built the perimeter frame and chopped the top. At this time he started hanging out at the shop more and more, next thing you know his car is at the shop and we started working on it. We kind of worked on it little bits here and there, till it got to the point that we were thinking, this thing is actually going to be finished. Well we fired it up two weeks ago for the first time it sounded killer. After some fine tuning we got it running good last Saturday (carbs and linkage dialed). We finally got to drive it, let me say this thing flies!! It reminds of a race car, it hooks hard and goes straight! I dont know if it is faster then my coupe but it sure is fun to drive. The thing I am most excited about is finishing this car for Curtis, his ear to ear grin after driving it was enough for me. Thanks for looking. Jimmy White Circle City Hot Rods P.s. The blue lexan windows with the holes drilled in them are from when it was originally built in the 60's. P.s.s. The engine is a 425 with a muncie four speed, with all six 97's working. The spindle mounts are temporary ( they are off of my car). He is just waiting to buy front wheels, to install the brakes.
Oops one of the cars is a 29 roadster that we are building for a customer. We also built a blister that is going on the cowl were the pitman arm sticks out. It is at the chrome shop right now. Jimmy White
My pants are getting tight! It's come a long way since I saw it a few months back. That's an awesome looking machine! My favorite build style for sure.
Thanks Kev!! That car has been alot of work. It is defienetly one of the funnest cars I have ever driven.. Jimmy White
Hot Damn! that car has come a long way in a very short time, i'll have to swing by the shop and check it out. did you make that grill insert? its a nice touch. and of course the pipes are perfect nice work Jimmy.
Erik, we made the insert out of aluminum and then had it chromed. Thanks for the compliments. Jimmy White
Those pipes are a work of art. This Hot Rod is pure genius! Thanks for sharing this, it beats that damn golf cart thread. Ken
Looks great Jimmy! It looks way better in person though. The black was the right choice. I met Curtis just that one time be he seems like a real nice guy that deserves that hot rod... Glad you could tag-team it with him. Next time I'm there, I want to hear it! See you at the Roundup Phil
That looks good. I love those headers. They have nice flow(astheticlly at least). I bet it sounds good too.
Jimmy, I stopped by that new shop when I was in LA a couple weeks back. You weren't there, but a hispanic guy that works there let me take a peek inside at that black coupe. It's a stunner! Sounds like a blast. great work yet again. You'll be at roundup? I'll look for ya. Danny
