Wow. Broadcasting 100 mph on a public road, that'll do a lot for the sport.

Anyone got some drunk driving pics???

  5. Sport? Which sport do you mean? I don't see much sport in going a 100 mph in a car with a 120 mph speedometer.

    dan..

I got a shot of 110 on my speedo in my old 46 ford..

but the car had a "streetrod" digital speedo...

and top speed recall.. 202 is pretty smooth.. maybe know someone who can balance tires?

I always liked rt1.. just before the pa/md state line..

I just realized the title was spelled wrong. I was wondering why everyone was talking funny.

yeah, whats up with that. i'm usually steering with one hand and rubbin one out with the other at that speed

  20. Cool!!! Old, ehhh??
Well, I maintain MY car is older than YOUR car.
Of course, my pic is clear enough that you can see the odometer, and it's triple digits on BOTH sides of the comma. None of 'em ones, either.
So, now, let's just let you roll up the miles on that Poncho, and when it hits 250K, on the original engine AND trans, take another pic with the needle on the FAR side of 100.

    You know, like I did.

BTW, I did it again yesterday (no pics, sorry) but now it's got 300K on it....

Man, for the price of a Mercedes, you could buy like 10 cool cars and a reliable one. Let's see some pics of some pre-65 stuff going 100. Like they said, late model speed aint impressive, my girlfriend's Kia can hit triple-digits...

No pics but my old Ford has seen 138 on several ocassions.
Flamedabone, that old Ford o' yours oughta see more than 108 this year,eh.You,you, huffer you!;)

  24. Dude, like you missed a point here or something.
A new Mercedes does NOT come with an odo reading of 250 thousand miles.
A Kia might hit 100 miles per hour, but NOT while reading 200,000 miles traveled.
At what point is a Mercedes not cool?? Cool is a manufacturer that can sell a car with a retail price over $450,000, and they have a waiting list.
And both Daimler AND Benz have the pre-65 thing wrapped. Seems they both started producing cars before anyone else started producing cars.
And, lastly, the request was to produce a pic of a car's speedo reading over 100 miles per hour.
I am the only one to do that.
Maybe you need to grab the camera and get in your girlfriend's Kia.

Dude, like you missed the point.

Your car has 300k on it. Great. Throw a party. Is it a rod or a kustom?

I dont think anyone cares how fast you go in your Mercedes.

  26. 116 MPH in my Rambler and I did it in my driveway!! HA!!

    What he said.

  28. Isn't Cosmo a girls ragazine?

I know its out of context but I bet you don't maintain your car.
So which authorized service center in IL takes care of your mercedes big shot?

Should I be impressed with the car or that you have a job that allows you to drop the $1000-$1500 a year on the manditory maintenance required to get it to 300k. Save the bullshit for someone else, I owned a 300TD, 420S and a few other overpriced sedans back when I was trying to be someone. Now that I'm not trying to impress anyone my daily is a 96 B-body that probably cost 1/10 of yours, I do all the maintenance and tops out at 140.

If you can't fix it then it ain't nothing to brag about... because the only thing you are capable of is writing the check.

    I drive my age, 65. Can't wait till I reach 100!

I go a bit faster at the drag strip however.

  30. Mike, can't imagine how fast that Rambler would have gone with the key in the ignition...Jim

Cosmo, have you ever posted anything rod related, all I ever see is Isuzu, Citrons, and now Mercedes. There must be a reason that you look at this board. lets see your rat rods with street sign floor boards
