I'm proposing this for a certain 'Family' show. It will get some air time late in the show. (Not Family Guy, that's all I can say.) Suspend reality a bit as it is a cartoon. Oh... and... Dad had a '54 Special convert. He always said it was his favorite car. Had he kept it around he'd have had 6 sons fighting for it. I'd have won 'cause I was (almost) the youngest. Alas,.....

I have a 53 Super Riviera,....slowly working on her. A friend's gonna redo the electric for me,....hopefully by next week?? I'm now putting in a new radiator,...got to get that done tomarrow.
I've got a '50, but the work is all happening under the hood right now. Body mods and suspension will happen, but no time soon. Too many projects at once... But, my '50 Buick is my favorite, so it will happen eventually. ~Scotch~
how is that motor turning out, im really anxious to see that thing! im just about done with my straight 8 to 700r4. gonna do the rear diff shortly after that.
I just got back into it, actually. The machinist I'm dealing with just moved his entire operation, and expanded dramatically. I've had to sidestep this project for awhile during the move. I just spoke with him and he's ready to get things finished up (particularly the custom intake) so we can get this thing running. I'm getting the bearings/gaskets from Egge Machine now and we'll be back to it really soon. It'll probably fire up within a month or two - I'll post results! Remember - Buicks are the new Mercs! Get 'em while they're cheap! ~Scotch~
My '55 Special is pretty naked. This summer she'll be back on the road slick and shaved. Putting together suspension in the meantime.
Here's my 1941 special. It's my daily driver when the weather's decent. It's pretty much bone stock. It's been in my wife's family since it was brand new. Her grandparents passed it down to us a couple of years back. I'm trying my hardest not to modify it.
Remember - Buicks are the new Mercs! Get 'em while they're cheap! ~Scotch~[/QUOTE] MAN! ssshhhh... ;}
Diggers4life, What a sweet old car and the fact it's still in the family makes it just that much more so. Not to dictate what you should do but if it were mine I wouldn't modify it, EVER. It's just so rare that one of these survives in the same family it DESERVES to live on UNMOLESTED. Lots of old cars out there to play with. please leave this one the way it is. Frank
I had a '52 Super. (see photo) Man that was a great car to go to the drive-in movies in. The front seat was like a sofa. My wife used to drive it to work sometimes. It was really funny. She's only 5' 2" and all you could see was the top of her head when she was behind the wheel. I did a sketch of one last year... hope you like it.
Lots of cool old Buicks here. I saw one yesterday that I've never before. Some kind of a factory built safari vehicle. Looked like a regular passenger car convertable but streched some and it had dual spare tire mounts on the rear fenders. Ugly, but kinda cool.
I just put this on my '54 Special this weekend. Still have to get the fuel lines and misc stuff done before I fire it up.
Heres My car dirty last fall with me in the pic. The other is my car in 2003 before she had stripes. 54_Nailhead you got anymore pic of your 54?
I really love the 50's Buick's too. In fact, I know where one is for $600 and I think it's a 52-53. Damn, I need a bigger place. I know where there are a few more projects but I'm running out of room and manpower. What's a guy to do?
Yeah, here is a pic of my '54 Special just after I got the top painted white w/silver pearl. Only thing different now is I have '56 Olds hubcaps on it.
I just posted a thread in the "wanted" section, but I thought I would add it to this thread also. I have a friend that wants to own a "big fat buick". His dream is a 1950 because of the grille teeth. Although, after showing him the pics of Tyler's 51, he could live with that too. He's not YET a Hamber, so I thought I would ask around for him. Basically looking for a 2dr, 50 to 52 Buick. Prefers the sedan style body and NOT a fastback. Needs to be a complete driver and not a project. His budget will dictate what is out there for him. Wants to be cruising in it ASAP. He's also from PA, like myself, but knows that shipping costs may be a factor. If you'd like, you can pm me and I can pass on any leads that come up. thanks Tim <!-- / message -->
