I was driving on 183 by mustang ridge to the round up, just like any other long drive... I saw a little toyota braking so I looked over to the other lane to move over and looked back and she was STOPPED.... I slammed my brake and turned as hard as I could and I clipped her p***anger side bed by one foot. I then skidded into the muddy ditch. I got out and made sure they weren't hurt and found my arm bleeding (from hanging my arm out the window, gl*** and what not hit it). After the cops and the medics left I found my trucks driver front side fender was destroyed, tire popped, door s****ped and pentched, and a little dent in the rear fender. So after I got it towed to my parents house in driftwood i am sitting here looking for front fenders for 54 chevy truck driverside. So if you know of any websites please post them. LMCtruck.com has them for $480 but I need more options. See yall tomarrow at the roundup, just look for the s****ped up arm. -Garrett
Wow, my daughter had an accident on that same road about two years ago. She was in the left(fast) lane not knowing that they don't have left turn lanes there and she got surprised by a line of deadstopped traffic over a hill. Clipped the last guy on the p*** side rear and went through traffic into the right hand ditch. Nobody hurt but the vehicles, thank goodness, and the damage was minor.
Just checked out your space. Nice truck. Sorry to hear that you mashed it but glad to hear you're OK. We're building a 54 right now and plan to do more tomorrow to it!
That's rough, man. I know how you feel. I tagged a Jetta back in December, still working on fixing the '55 up. Here's some pix of the damage. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2690711100092261295XEXPqm http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2246983360092261295bynfIA http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2171281890092261295FBNKWC http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2173750720092261295KiysXz http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2107710510092261295coOOsF http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2273608080092261295OqLgEy Still trying to hunt a new left hand painted bumper guard, gonna hit this yard I know of by Terre Haute when the Wabash goes down (the yard is right next to it and sometimes floods).
Thanks guys... Well here the picture, Id say I didn't just just "tag" that toyato but anyways here they are.
Ohhhhhhhh...........that has to hurt..........Sorry to here of your accident. WOW - looks a bit more than just a "tag" though. Best of luck on the repairs.....I think you'll find may more suppliers than LMC. Paco
OUCH!!! Mine certainly isn't hurt as bad as yours. If you haven't been there already, you might check out the Stovebolt Page. I'm member there, too, and I know that someone there can help with finding the parts. Lots of AD Chevy truck guys over there.
wow thats a big ouch glad your ok . man that ****s good luck with finding those fenders hope you can find a good deal .
Man sorry to hear about this. That thing looks like it took a good hit. Good thing everyone came out okay thats what is most important..
Sorry about that, I just went through a similar thing. Some *** hit me in my F-1, happy ending is still coming from the insurance; but it's coming. That looks like a good reason to put flames on the front! Hang in there it'll be ok soon. Tim
yeah sorry to hear about your accident........................... do they have drivers ed at your college?
I recommend getting a used fender. Just did 1/2 the front on my '59 and the new repops didnt fit worth a damn!!! (still HOT about it) If not. I've had good luck with American Cl***ic (TX!), Jim Carter(MO), The filling station (OR), Fred's (AZ) and there is a REALLY good guy in Florida but I cant remember the name of the place. Mike
Man that blows, I got "tagged" by some dumb *** wannabe biker last August on I-78 on the way out to Scranton PA for the Rockabilly Run. I feel your pain its 10 times worse when it happens on the way to a show.
Well I got the worst end of it. I dented her bumper a bit, the tail light was just gone, the tailgate was dented a little and bent the p***anger side bed panel. But It was a peice before I hit her lol. Garrett
BUMMER DUDE! hambers unite and help get this truck back on the road. wish i was closer to help you out. my 50' chevy suffered a similar problem years ago when the subframe by p.o. broke loose from one side while turning a corner. old yellow trucks must be bad luck? keep us posted on the repairs.
Garrett 1. minor injuries to humans involved 2. non-fatal injuries to your truck you are gonna be o.k and I'm sure you'll find what you need to put the truck in top shape good luck and be well MArk
I tell ya man, you got to watch your *** in Austin...I know where your coming from...that ****s! I saw two accidents. One was about 75 South on SA on 37, guy and three people in a ricer slid off the road into the median, and I can't believe they didn't flip it, everyone was OK. The second was in Austin on the way from a friends house to the Round up. Another ricer was off the freeway into the trees faceing in the reverse direction from which they came. Police were there but no movement at the car...didn't look good. Anyway, I drove up from Corpus and stayed with a friend who did all the driving, thank God. It's like a race course there. I'm doing 80 mph and peolpe are on my *** to get out of the way. Keeps you on your toes. Anyway, I hope you can get the truck back together OK. Good luck!
Oh I get it. Its an April Fools Joke. He didn't really go out and rearend somebody, then blame everything but the fact he doesn't know how to drive. I like the way everybody went along with the gag, after all whats not to believe. Dumb woman stops to turn left in a beat up Toyota hey get the #$#% out of the way. "But It was a peice before I hit her lol." I love that line. Hey now your 54 is too LOL
