theres not much to look at but its a 49 F1, its going to be fenderless, a partial hood, not sure on the grill as of yet, channeled and chopped, shortened and narrowed bed, ford small block with lakeside pipes (maybe even a tunnelram) 15x4's on 165's in the front and something like a 15x12 with a 315-50-15 rear (or somethin like that)

I'm the second owner of this 1960. I can already hear the "4 door groans" :) I've got kids so this is the perfect summer car for picnics, trips to the beach and drive-in movies.

Hay Guys: I'm a new guy to the sight and from what I have seen so far this is one bad ass form. My 50's projects have taken a back seat this year for the restoration of the 69 Daytona. But once that is done I have plenty of others to take it's place. Hear ar a cople photos of them. The 29 IH I moved out to the old mans place from my back yard so it's out of the wether, The Daytona, And the 56 with a 69 jeep truck posi. rear and 69 camaro front subfraim set up for a 454 BB. Building the caddy to pull my car trailer. Cooler than a truck.
Very COOL sight, I'm going to like it hear.:D

Maybe it's just me, but I think I've seen more '57-'60 F-100s in this thread than I have anywhere else on the board.

    Anyway, here's my daily-driver '60:

My father and I originally did it as a stock restoration, so it's still pretty much stock except the rear is lowered a little. This summer I plan to pull the six and drop in a '56 Merc 292 I'm building, and lower the truck as far as I can with the I-beam axle.

For $10, a local farmer let me have the 30/31 A chassis and two flatheads ... he has two spare front axles and a rear that I need to go back and get. I think they all still have the wishbones on 'em.

  24. My 1962 Studebaker Hawk with Cad 472 engine.
Our family car since I built it in 1977.
In 1988 or 89 I took out the trusty 289 and added 472 cubes.
Pic 1 is from our family vacation in the Colorado mountains-
Estes Park Colorado Studebaker meet at 6,000 ft. 1987?

Lots of fiberglass with stiffening and braces converted a flexi-Stude into a light but SOLID bucket that handles the 500+ ft lb torque monster. This thing can outrun many muscle cars while pulling a trailer.
I know a lot of people don't like fiberglassing a metal car, but it has saved an otherwise unfixable car,
and has outlasted the original floor by a factor of 4 to 1 measured in years.
That 45 yr old car has provided a stiff and quiet family car for 30 years so far, and is still more solid now than when it was new.

    OK, here goes....

    49 Merc (pre chop)
    56 Chevy Pick-up (a la mode)
    57 Olds 88 (project)
    61 Caddy (chicks dig it)
    62 Caddy (Kool Koupe)

...one should never have to drive the same car two days in a row
