That damn interior took my breath away. The detail was impecable. Pinstripes EVERYWHERE. Timeless custom.
    Gorgeous ride.

Cal Custom chrome spiders w/ matching mini "beauty" rings.

The spiders are available as reproductions.

I don't think the beauty rings are reproduced, so begin your hunt.

    Wheels are fog painted.

McPhail, the car is beautiful and inspired.

The statement that the car already seems to have history totally makes sense. You know Dennis and crew nailed it when even an uneducated slob like me can take one look and instantly "get it".

Great seeing you again Dennis. Hope you get the bumper issues worked out. The car rips.

Hey straykat- you are VERY welcome!!!

But let me say how ironic it is (and honored I am) that I get even mentioned in the same post with Dennis' AMAZING Chevy. I have LOVED '56 Chevy's from my earliest memory- I was brought home from the hospital in 1966 in my dad's clean '56 Bel Air with Cragers on the front and Astro 5-slots on the back. I grew up with these cars, and my whole life we have had a few. I had a cool one-owner '56 150 a couple years ago but as soon as I lowered it and added wide white someone else wanted it A LOT more than me.

But I have been anxiously awaiting Dennis' car after meeting Jeff (fink'd) last year and getting to know him. I liked the work he did for Jimmy White enough to have a place in line for my dad's original kustom '56 Chevy (built in '62) with Jeff after he finishes Dennis' car.

Well the very first I saw of McPhail's Chevy was where everyone else saw it in the San Antonio parking lot- INSTATLY I was floored!!!! The car from first glance just sits PERFECT (not many '56s ever have) and it just gets better from there. The details are amazing- and totally true to the pioneers Dennis and Jeff learned from. I could go on for pages, but the pictures tell it all.

Seeing this car got me inspired enough that beside my dad's '56 I am sending my '56 Chevy pickup to Jeff for m***aging and paint- and then hopefully will get Sean at Fat Lucky's to s***ch my seat and trim out my cab.

I missed the "kustom era" the first time, but could not be more excited about what guys like Dennis, Jeff and Sean are doing now- AMAZING!!!!

Awsome car the perfect example of 60's custom. like how when you first look at it you see it a mild custom but then it draws you closer and you take look and you see all the extra custom work and time and skill in this car. love the interior. haven't seen a better 56 done before.

    Great point Kool1,

All of the kool details reminds me of Jimmie Vaughn's fastback
Chevrolet. It looks like not much has been done until you really
start to studying all of the changes.

This is why I love Kustoms.......

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

  20. WOW!!!! I bought my 56 210 hdtp in 87 and don't remember another tri-5 or 56 specifically that made the leap into Kustom so perfectly. I think it wouldn't have looked as good if it was a hardtop, my.02. Damn I need to finish all my other projects and start wrenching on the 56 again.

  21. I'm speechless, that is a great custom.....
