My 51 shoebox

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by THR1LL3R, Apr 8, 2007.

  1. Hey just wanted to post some pics of my shoebox as it progresses into a sweet custom.I recently bought this car from a member of the board and since have detailed it, painted the wheels black and lowered the front(thanks to the tech section:) ).Currently right now I'm painting the hood white(lovered) , the interior limetime green ,clean up the flatty, and working on fuel and wiring problems(shorts) .The future holds airbags,12V ,and somestriping. Enjoy and thanks HAMB:D

Real Nice! ....... amazing what a good old detail and some elbow grease can do!

  12. I cut a coil and a half off,It already had the lower control arm trick done thats why I didn't do the full 2 coils. The only reson I did this is because I got airbags, believe it or not it handles a little better and deffinently looks cooler.

Dude, I saw you crusing around in this the other day. I was the kid sitting in the back of my friends 97 Firebird Formula with the loud exhaust and the top down. Last Monday or Wednesday I can't remember. When it was still warm! That thing looked nice and sounded good too. I have a 53 Dodge. See you around.

Very Kool!!!!! You are going about it the right way, little bit of detail, lower it
and drive it. Good luck finishing the project.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

As soon as it warms up... I planned on taking it down to the easter show, but I pussed out w/ the weather. Might have to organize a STL Hamb meet sometime soon if it warms up.

Oh, and "Chevy Gasser" I seen the 55 down at Forest Park sunday and I was blown away by it. The condition is amazing... At first look I was thinking wow... this guy really nailed it on building a 60-70's gasser, then after further inspection I realized it was all original! I took a ton of pics of it... I didnt know you were on the Hamb.
