Ah, Missoula, the hometown of the infamous junkyards dealing in mail and other fraud selling vintage bodies and parts. There were 1000s of complaints back in the 70s-80s about these outfits and most, if not all, were under federal Mail and State investigation which resulted in trials and sentences.
Not strictly Missoula but related. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=162560&highlight=montana s.
Here are a couple of pics of the long gone Medicine Bow Motors. Mike Zarbolis' Chevy junkyard was right next door. I stayed with his family for a weekend back in the early 80's and would love to say hi to him so if anyone has contact info could they please PM me.
I heard tail of a few stories from some mail order theives operating out of a po box in texas on hemmings in the 70s and 80s to
Thanks for all the responses. Medicine Bow Motors was the place I was thinking of (saw pics years back). Kalispell is where I am originally from so I would be going there by way of Missoula. I may not be able to go though. If I do I will definitely check these places out.
How come it says I am an FNG and what does that stand for? I can think of several things that start with F..

There are no finer gentlemen than Mike Zarbolias... Just one hell of a great guy. His son Jon is cut from the same cloth . The grandkids Nicholas and Vincent came with their folks to our car club meeting last night. Awesome kids as well. Some families just got it. Everytime I meet any of this clan I feel honored just to know them.
Oh, yeah. heres a post of whats left of the old " Medicine Bow Motors" stash. Its an old post so some of the links are down but if you scroll through the post there are some active photos,,, Dana, You still got those photos? could you repost em? Medicine Bow had a REAL shady History . Coker at Medicine Bow was a four star crook. Mike Zarbolias ' place was next door. "Hare and Tortoise Motors." Mike ran a great business. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68214&page=2&highlight=bone+yard
Hey Chaz and Toymount, I went up there about the same time you guys were up there, because in the cl***ifields there was some 30's car bodys for sale.so i went up there by myself I could not believe how small the road started to get the higher I went up. when I got there I pretty much ****ed my pants.Thats when I thought how in the hell did this guy get all these car parts up here.I told my dad and some friends about it and I know they thought I was exaggerating about it. I wish I had my camera with me.I wonderif it is still all there?
