Yesterday was another 'outing' for our cars over here, gaining interest and support, with another 2 cars hitting the track, bringing our total number of 'racers' to 8 cars, with another 4 in the wings waiting to be finished. Will do a summary of our 'ready & racing' cars at a later time (as 'net' time becomes availible), but were proud of our latest participants, as they both built their cars in very short period of time (3 months), and whilst their first outing was slow and painful, give them time they will sort out their respective issues, and start reaping the rewards of their hard work. Matt (and 2 of his friends) built no. 7, powered by a Buick straight 8 (adapted to a Holden 3 speed), and 2 brothers built number 8 (sorry, their names escape me at the second) powered by a cranky 8BA flatty, sounded great, and will be a ball once they get the bugs worked out. Was a fun day out, with the times and speeds improving, although we're just dipping our toes at the moment, as we've been temporarily limited to high 13's......but our fasted recorded speed was 94 MPH, so will be fun once we're allowed to crack some whips.... Again, appoligies for the breif story, but my net time has been limited, so will post some more info and pics as soon as I can. Cheers, Drewfus
hey Drewfus, a year and a half ago in oct. we were running high 13's at 94 mph and your cars hit the track about a year and a half after ours, so their seems to be a lot of similarity, strange isn't it.
I sure will be glad when I can say my car went 13s at 94 mph..That is great news. You Aussie guys sure get them built quick. Keep up the good work..
we're getting there, we're ironing out the basics, and hope to be catching up (and p***ing ) you guys soon. Photo's still coming....slowly. Cheers, Drewfus
You have alot of work to do and alot of p***es to make boys. Can you go to the track every week to test? We can.
Photos finally processed. Will make a web gallery in the next day or two and upload them. Need some family time after a few solid weeks of photography.
Sadly no, our HA/GR's can only use the track a couple times per year.......next outing is in August. We'll get there, slowly, but we're having fun so all is good. Cheers, Drewfus
You might think about setting up your own drag strip at a small airport. That's how they used to do it. You might have to wait for a plane to land now and then.
There's only a few aerodromes here that can be used as ad hoc dragstrips and they are all several hours away from major cities. I can't even manage to get the cars onto an old aerodrome runway for a static photoshoot.
Hey! You guys just pack all your stuff up and move here,we'll take good care of you and we can race every weekend. So,what are you waiting on?
A decent, honest job that would pay the bills to make it a reality.....I've been wanting to move over there for years, just need a bit more money to make it a reality... We'll keep hacking away, ANDRA is coming around....just have to finish my cars.. Cheers, Drewfus
