It's a '57 Ranchero with a '58 Edsel front clip- so it's technically an Edselchero if you want to get picky
You should try and ****** that car as it is an early "Kustom"...Edsel didn't make a Ranchero/Camino..but plenty of people have bolted Edsel frontends to 58-59 Ford Rancheros..there is a really nice black one around here that shows up at the Roundup....
From the Straykat 500... This one lurks around these parts. Looks like a little time with a buffer and you'll have that one looking like this...
From the pictures Rashy posted that the car/truck ,,I just ***umed it was an Edsel,,from the front end.So I guess it's both
maybe,,not that sunk,,high water table so it's kinda soggy back there,,lol...I'll as my brother,,I like it myself, and then theres this ,,lol
Yeah, if the Edchero has Edsel wagon taillights in it, I could use a decent lens or the whole ***emblies. Looks rough but a very neat car. I have pics from another junkyard of a '59 Edsel that someone shaved the ****** off of. It looks just like factory, with a straight-across front bumper and grille. Was really neat, unfortunately it was lost to the s****per.
there is a guy around here locally that has an edsel wagon that was turned into a truck many many moons ago, orange and white two tone, its pretty sharp lookin if you ask me.
cool looking truck,,,,,,not hijacking the thread, but how 'bout a "56 el camino"...this was made from a 56 crown vic....sold her last summer....
Do NOT get near that VW bus! These are often the homes of old 60s-70s female ****o stars, you know, the fuzzy headed girls with dirty feet...very *****, very scary!
Can't verify the story but I have heard that Edsel dealers got these from the factory as a promotion vehicle. I was told they came in "kit" form and the dealers body shop had to install the front end and tail lights to make the Ranchero. There is one of these sitting at an old shop in Ranger, TX.
There is a '70s style "show car" Edsel sedan delivery (made from a Ford Courier) pretty close to my house. It's orange with a big mural where the windows would have been on a wagon - and deep green **** carpet inside. It rules.
I had one and sold it here on the HAMB last year. Mine was a Ranchero with an Edsel front clip. I was told that there was indeed a limited production of the real deal by Edsel and that they were available in Canada. I can't verify the information, but I have seen a couple pop up in Canada and in the Pacific Northwest.
Here are some pictures of not only a Edsel Ranchero but also a '56 Dodge (I wish I had a better picture) By the way someone told me that the Dodge was the green Hornet's gardener's work truck!!! The '57 Merc and the '56 Dodge were at the West Coast Kustom Paso Run way back when it was still held at Sherwood Park. The '60 Pontiac is pretty cool.
I never really liked the old Ranchero that much. To me they looked too 'tame' if that makes sense. BUT... with the Edsel front clip on it, that makes a completely different creature all in itself. In fact, I'd almost buy and build one down the line... probably for my 7 year old... yeah, that'd be cool. Momma's baby boy in a Edchero. That'd rock!
All the Edsel wagons and verts were built in the US and exported to Canada. Only the cheaper sedan models were built here in Oakville. You may be thinking of the Meteor Ranchero that was available here around '57/'58 That is not to say a few oddball models were made and considering the limited amounts built then the odd balls would be in the single digit range of production
